We had a very successful meetup May 31 to go antiquing in Centralia, WA.  About 13 Portland Steampunks traveled up to Centralia (alas, we did get a bit of a late start), where we eventually did find the Seattle group - Molly, Adam, Sinjun, and family.  We didn't buy a lot, but had a great time anyway!  The Neo-Victorian outfits seemed to have the entire town agog, and we were continually asked if we were "in a play?" everywhere we went. Overall, we were received very well by the townsfolk and shopkeepers, and people went out of their way to stop and talk to us as we strolled, en masse, down the street.

Here are the pics...

Mrs. Sullivan, excellent photos! I wish we had one off the men's urinal from the Olympic Club. It was a great piece of Victorian porcelain with a steamy pipe leading up over head with a working pressure gauge. A truly magnificent urinal!

I only hope we can find more wonderful places like Centralia to explore!

What were you going to Centralia for again? I've lived in Washington my whole life and now live in the Seattle are if you need an extra pen pal.

Mrs. Sullivan, these are some nice pictures - thank you for sharing with us. Smiley

I especially like the group shot with all of you fine folks:

In black & white, this one could prelude a fantastic expeditions log, or even a movie... overlayed with an absorbing ( = british accent  Wink ) voice-over, stating that these were the last moments of normality for each and every member of the group before they boarded the airship that took them to unknown distant shores. (uhm, I assume correctly that it is the airship the lady and gent on the right are pointing at, right?)  Smiley
