Steampunk Narwhal... what a wonderful combination!

« on: May 09, 2013, 03:37:20 am »

My friend and I are planning to go to the renaissance fair in Bristol, Illinois. I forgot what the exact date of it is, but we are planning to go on "steampunk day". Anyone else in the area planning to go?

P.S. I just started going on this forum again after almost a year. Hope I didn't miss anything too important.

Naw,you were gone just a year-why do you think you may have missed something? Roll Eyes

I may make it this year, missed last because if something, but I'll be in normal dress. I really don't have anything to wear besides a vest that would work. My wife and I go just to shoot pics of stuff and it's usually the hottest day any day you go. Can't even keep comfortable in shorts and a T! I don't know how anyone does it.

I hear there's also a small fest between Beloit and Madison coming up soon. May check that if it's nice.

It was not too hot last year, although it is usually uncomfortably hot.

Most correct!

And if I'm sweating in shorts and a T-shirt just standing there-it's too hot.
But,then again, anything over  85 is too hot for me. The 9+ years living in Dumida did it to me.

My husband and I used to go all the time when we lived in Milwaukee... one of the only things I miss about Wisconsin. I'm especially sad that we left before they started doing steampunk days.

Guess we'll just have to invade some ren fairs in the Mid-Atlantic.
