Help me decide how my next creation will look!

I'm building a steampunked resistance box, you don't need to know what that is you just need to help me decide which design is best! Just choose the one you like most or think will be most convenient; considering that I will need to be turning these dials alot and also connecting and disconnecting wires to this box.
Here are the 3 designs I came up with, quickly sketched, please have a look at them and vote above - also note that I included 2 sets of connection terminals on 2 of the designs you can choose between which positioning when voting :)

Both aesthetically and ergonomically.

*nod nod* I'm just curious how many votes I can get on design 1 now ;)
Also it started raining (partly my fault) so I couldn't start work sawing things in the garden right now :D

Yes, #1 is the most attractive, with the dials in front. If building box #1 proves tricky, #3 is almost as nice.
