...Wow! I wasn't sure when I first saw it in its initial stages, but I aprove! Is the corrosion deliberate? And if so, how?
Yes, deliberate. Made with a two components rusting kit. Consists of a sort of paint with little particles of iron. After coating the material with it (twice...a thick layer) , you put on a corrosive fluid. After a few hours, this is the result. Sights are for those who don't have six barrels to ensure they don't miss.

That's why it's called "peacemaker"; a peaceful silence always enters the scenery after using it. At least on my side......'cause it takes approximately 20 minutes to reload...

Those look great Leadmil. I applaud your decision to paint them with a more traditional gunmetal look. I love brass as much as the next goggle lover but its nice to have some variety among weapons.
Thank you!

Why! This thread has inspired me to carry on with my previous intentions of making a gun. I have most of the components and I shall let you all know how I get on.

Here's another work in progress. Obtaining a brass tube, I drill an appropriate size hole in a scrap of walnut to fit it. Then I cut out the blank with a scroll saw and shape it on the sander. Then I gleefully dash about the studio, gathering bits which might work with this project. A marble, a crystal some copper caps, copper disk, a laser pointer, brass, copper wire, sterling silver, brass rings, some gems, a little bottle or two.More to come. Dr. B

Just a pair of Nerf Maverick repaints. I sanded off the Nerf markings, modified the restrictors & the barrel swingouts and painted them. This week I'm working on holsters for them so we can wear them to a Steampunk Picnic in MA this weekend.

I was just at the local hardware store an noticed that Rustoleum now has a couple metallic spray paints that call "Hammered" that dries leaving a texture that is supposed to simulate metal that has been hammered or is textured. It might be something worth trying on some of the NERD mods that would not have to be "antiqued" like a shiny metallic paint. It is also supposed to hide surface imperfections -so it might help hide areas where you couldn't completely sand off the word "NERF"

Just some mods, but most of the arsenal for the HMA Todd. The long horizontal pink stripe on the Iron Man blaster actually glows or flashes blue light. It was a self-adhesive light strip intended for use on a bicycle. I also want to add a piece of pipe or something to it to give it a defined barrel.

Greetings, Another work in progress photo. Hopefully there will be a laser inside. Must say, though, the absolute perfection of the Kosmos Brenner makes the effort seem less worthwhile. By George, it is just perfect. Dr. B

I know what you mean. I was inspired to build something after seeing all these rayguns. I spent about an hour looking at trinkets at our local Salvation Army (Militant Branch) yesterday. Then I see the Brenner and I am instantly sent into a shame spiral. I like how your gun is going, Babisnki. A nice smoking jacket raygun.

Mr Cranium,
That is some work of art.
WETA? Who needs 'em?
Now, if you'll just do us a tutorial on the process of producing fitted/lined cases like that, I'm sure we would all be most obliged.
Kind regards and admiration/envy,
Dr. Q.
p.s. If you were to produce further examples boxed as a duelling pair, your elevation to Godship would be assured.

Then I see the Brenner and I am instantly sent into a shame spiral. I'm sure that any project will turn out good if you put enough work and dedicating to it, the Brenner is a product of months of scavenging tinkering and dremeling. Nothing is impossible, it only takes a littel longer as they say Mr Cranium,

Thanks, as for the box itself it was pretty straightforward as, i have access to a whole woodshop. the em.. stuff inside was cut out of polystyrene and then covered in velvet first on the edges and then i glued a large piece on top of all and cut it along the eagers. (maybe not much of a tutorial but... anyway) duelling pistols you say... humm why didn't i think of that, and godship does sounds tempting...
