It was better before you painted it, you cad!

I know, I know...I promise, the next one will be exclusively brass, leather and wood!

That's absolutely incredible!  I'm not a big fan of ray guns, but I have to admit that this one is a thing of beauty.

Thanks!

Ya DS, I am inclined to agree, I did like it a lot better unpainted..although I understand that wasn't the look you were going for. How is your Weta gun holding up (*envy*)

The Weta gun is holding up well...Just sitting on it's display case in my office.

Nice raygun thingymawhatsit.  Now it's summer, I need to make a ray gun, or perhaps something like Mal's gun.  All these cool ray guns are going to force me to make one of my own.

P.S.
I had just assumed the green bolt dealie was the trigger.

Sauronrulez,  that gun is looking pretty nifty too!  Any gun with an odd number of barrels is OK by me

Sauronrulez, reminds me of a multi barreled pepperbox pistol, which is *definitely* a good thing. Looking good, anyhow!

Also, polyphemus, delightful as always Grin

Pepperbarrel...in fact. Forgot to put something in the picture showing the actual size. It's about 40 cm long overall...

polyphemus: it's a beauty for sure....

Update!
Some brass thingys added...
And put a watch in the pics... size matters Smiley

I am just starting to get into Steampunk from a creative side, (I've always been fascinated with it as a genre, but have only recently become interested in actually MAKING things) so I don't have any kind of Steampunk gun to show off.

I did however come across this at an antique sale last weekend when adventuring in the forests of northern California. The locals appear to gather on the second Sunday of each month and block off entire streets for a whole day to put this sale on.

The proprietor even gave me a few tips on how to "get it working" again, but I don't think he realized that it already works. (it uses those little red paper pop-cap rolls.)

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I still have no idea what I'm going to do to it, but I've got some ideas. Anyway it looks a little Steampunk in its current state of wear, so I thought it would be appropriate to post before I actually began work on it.

Atmospherically Charged Air-infused Celluloid Projectile launcher (or yet another NERF gun mod)
(Sorry for making a new thread, I hadn't yet seen this one :-/)

I did make a boo-boo and forgot to paint the trigger. But for my first real project, I think it turned out ok.

Next I'm going to make an Aethericbeam Sword, for my belt, and an Aetheromagnetic metallic projectile launcher.

Sincerely,

Pollyphemus, That is a beautiful gun! Any other shots of the device inside the tube? And Sauron... I love the progress so far! I hope that gun has the weight it looks like it has.  Very nice design to both!

Actually, I forgot to include anything nearby for size comparison, that gun is actually about the size of any ordinary handgun.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

But a noisy cricket DOES sound fun. Smiley

I salute your weaponry, gentlemen. I am really lacking in the weaponry department, unfortunately Sad I have nice a collection of bits and bobs, but I still need a proper, real grip. Real as in made of actual wood or brass; not something I painted up. I really need to work up the courage to create something out of solid wood...

Need advice here!!!
The Peacemaker is almost done, just a trigger needs to be added...
I'm in doubt whether I should add more brass to it, or leave it as is..
Anyone out there with a sound advice?

I hope that gun has the weight it looks like it has.

Sauronrulez, that's it...That grip you've crafted is great...I'm coming over to your place to steal it Tongue

Wink

As far as trigger goes...how about making more than one? One that fires a single barrel, the other that fires all barrels...An assemble akin to something you'll find with some double barreled shotguns Smiley

Ahh! It looked a lot smaller in the first picture. I guess it's the unusual design and somewhat 'odd' proportions of the gun. Smiley
I quite like it though. It's a vintage toy gun, right? Any idea how old it is?

Nerf mod almost done I want to do a wash over it so it's not quite so shiny, and I want to add some wires or tubes running from the two CO2 cartridges but I can't decide where to plug in the other ends of the tubes/wires. Any suggestions? The could be reversed so the nipples faced front.

Did not go for the suggestion of you, Torvald_Faust, just one trigger. I decided to keep it clean and simple.

I lack the second one, I do believe...If it is the tool I think it is. Besides that, one would need skill, too Wink
