OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH pepperbox For those of you wondering where to pick up all manner of replica weapons that are just dying to be modded, google "replica guns". You will find all manner of companies that are selling models that I believe are all made by Denix. Here are a few sites where I purchased my pepperbox, broom handled mauser (for my Han Solo Blaster) and LeMat pistols:

I have been very happy with all three that I have gotten over the years. Very realistic looking from several feet away. They are made from some kind of softish metal, a bit softer than brass, which is referred to as "pot metal" here in the states. So as long as they are just static display pieces, they are just fine. They do have moving parts, somewhat sloppy in tolerances, but certainly adequate for our uses. Plus, they take very nicely to dremel tool modification.

Congratulations, people. You've once again inspired me to grab some paint and get some modding done on some of the old waterguns and plastic dart guns I have lying around my house(i've just realized I can make something pretty damn spiffy with some painting and sanding on an old watergun that's been sitting in my basement for about 5 years).
Perhaps it'll get done this summer.

Would that be the sort that Sgt. Harper carried in the Sharpe stories? I knew Mr. Nock existed (saw one of his pistols at the Royal Ontario Museum a few years back) but I had wondered about the volley guns.

Yeah it seem s Nock made the volley gun as it appeared in the Sharpe's Rifles series as well as some other multi-barreled guns like the "goose rifles"

If my memory serves me, the Nock volley gun was a weapon to be used by British marines. They were meant to fire from the crows nests with them with the aim of causing much mayhem on the enemy ships decks during boarding actions. Unfortionately the recoil was dangerously high. (In the throw the men from the rigging dangerous)

I believe Cornwell mentioned much the same. That's how Harper got his - Sharpe picked it up at Navy Surplus

Hey all! Haven't been around for a while (had some computer problems and been busy with work) but I decided to pop in and check out what was new. WOW, I never realized how many steampunk guns have been produced by the talented folks here! Anyhow, here's my only steamy gun to date (Im actually brainstorming for another one soon) DS

Ya DS, I am inclined to agree, I did like it a lot better unpainted..although I understand that wasn't the look you were going for. How is your Weta gun holding up (*envy*)
