..not sure turning up en masse to Iron Sky in anything that could be interpreted as 'Nazi-ish' would be a good idea.

My thoughts echoed. Although I still have my Pickelhaube......No. Perhaps not. Grin

I will definitely NEVER dress up as anything remotely Nazi-ish!  Shocked

I'll go to the theatre most likely wearing my great grandfather's shirts from the war and my Ike jacket.

I do trivia nights at bars pretty frequently and in the past month two places have asked a question refering to Hugo Boss' Nazi relationship. It's crazy that stuff like this isn't more well known!

Well if you want to look into the Nazi past of German companies… to paraphrase a popular German expression: I cannot eat as much as I would like to puke!
It’s not just Hugo Boss.

Perhaps if everyone turned up as Sarah Palin (or Michael).  Red is so you!

Or maybe a little Freikorperkultur.  But April can be a bit on the chilly side.

No I'm certainly not suggesting Nazi cosplay either folks. The cast of "Allo Allo" might be able to get away with it, but I doubt we would. Although you just know come the next convention...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Always going to be problematic I'm afraid. As for the Hugo Boss thing, well as Evelyn said, once you start joining the dots it all gets quite alarming. The man himself died a long time ago, and these days I don't think that company is any more dubious than a great many others (which is fairly dubious admittedly).

It's ironic how certain things with a less than stellar history have now been adopted by folks with the extreme opposite political views.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Still the past is set in stone, all we can really do is hope for a better future, Ideally one that doesn't involve a Nazi invasion from space.

Has anyone seen it yet? It was shown at the Berlin Film Festival yesterday. The Los Angeles Times gave it a good review.

Three of my friends were at the press screening or the premiere. Two were very enthusiastic ("great fun!") one was underwhelmed. But he likes Adam Sandler, so hey...

My dad still actually has an original German helmet he found as a boy, on one of the channel islands I believe. I used to play with it when I was a kid, I haven't touched it for years but I've always found it astonishingly heavy and cumbersome.

Don't forget, we've still got this to look forward to, and I have a suspicion there will be more.

There is not a huge amount about it on line right now, but this gives you the basic idea. Like Iron Sky it's taking a while and there are questions as to whether it will ever see the light of day. But it is definitely still an ongoing project and I very much suspect that it will.

Nazis from Space - yes, that's my birthday weekend as well. I am so happy.
(I'll be Dieselling it up a little - not that I need an excuse to wear a suit and fedora.)

Now all we need is for War of the Worlds: Goliath to be completed. Teddy Roosevelt leading an elite international force in reverse-engineered Martian tripods against the next wave of the invasion? Yes, please.

I would wait in line for days for War of the Worlds: Goliath.  Well maybe not days.  But I would be there ticket in hand waiting for that one.

I read the news today, old boy:

(I can't help but notice that the two bad reviews quoted at the bottom are from publications that famously lack any sense of humour..)
