I shall see you around 8 o'clock, then. Due to maternal pressure, I will not be attending in a hoopskirt, but rather in exactly what I wore to Steampump. What a faux pas.

Maduncle, what will Customs make of the flea, I wonder Cheesy

Flea?

What flea??

I did think of that and decided since the old blighter is encased in resin under the slide it will be safe.

As for Thursday - I just checked the ticketing and we can still purchase tickets at eight pm.

See you all there.

UPDATE -

As for who will be there, I believe this is the list...

maduncle

CaptainPhania

thunderarrowalchemist

ScytheKnight

MsSerendipitySwan

Sorontar

Bezier (if he makes up his mind)

Redmund Playfoot (with lady) possibly

CoffeePirate (if he is not busy with getting ready for the fashion parade)

- I think that is the list...

I've been called into work at short notice for the night (and Friday night as well) which means there's no chance at all of me being there tonight.   Sad

I apologize for having left in such a hurry, folks. I had to get home quickly. I hope you all had fun and whatnot.

So what did we all think of the exhibition? Personality I was disappointed by the size but inspired by the illustrations all over the walls. Do let me know what shenanigans you all got up to after my departure.

Do I detect predictive text?  Wink

I have a 500 word essay on what I thought of the exhibition from a while back...I did feel like there was a disproportionate amount of Tim Burton: The Teenage Years compared to his high-profile work. As you pointed out, not much Sweeney Todd. Still was worth seeing a second time for me.
Not really any shenanigans, though Hallward drew a fantastic Batman in crayon.

Nice seeing everyone and putting faces to usernames  Smiley

Indeed you do. An iPhone feature which is at most times useful but sometimes very bloody annoying. Sad

Anyways, how long did you all stick around for?

The blogger gave me his card, and sure enough it was up there.

And now I must flee - I think I'll go by corpse through the canal.

More stalkers 'phania!

I did enjoy my second visit to the exhibition and the opportunity to connect with fellow Antipodean Steampunkers.

Next time we shall be better organised for gathering spots and such like.

Thank you all for a lovely evening.  We seem to have lost the group somewhere early on, but much fun was had regardless. This was my third visit, and I still found new and interesting bits to ooh and ahh over.  We were almost forcibly evicted at 10pm by the attendants!

Au contraire, the blogger was the right kind of friendly and he told me what it was for. That's much better than I usually get  Embarrassed

thunderarrowalchemist, so nice to meet you. You didn't seem nervous at all! I hope your feet are all right. We shall have to arrange another <18 suitable event in the future, as I think the upcoming big things are restricted.

It was great meeting you all and putting faces to names. Small groups are great for that.

Both Obsi and I loved the personal touch of the show in that it didn't try and swamp us with props from the movies. It was a reflection of his take on things. But yes, more of his younger years, especially outside of his artwork might have been good in order to put us in the picture of what sort of world he was brought up in. It tried to do that with the Burbank themes to the gallery, but I think it failed. We both liked the Burtonarium. The lights worked well on Obsi's bloomers. :^)

Can't wait for the next get-together.

Possible next 'get togethers' for Melbournian steampunkers include:

- the Clockwork Butterfly fashion parade at the Thornbury Theatre on Saturday 9th October (open to all ages).

- the 'Spooky Men's Choir' gig somewhere in Melbourne on the 16th October (new CD launch).

- and of course Euchronia on New Years Eve.

For 2011, is there a big 'con' coming to Melbourne that we should attend?
