Ahem,

For those who have a love of beautiful old equipment...

http://www.cbraggauctions.com/

There are several amazing typewriters, portable gramaphones and other incredible pieces in the catalogue for this auction on this coming Sunday.

Sadly - I need to save my euro for Paris, otherwise I would be attending and splurging.

*Arms falls off from making too many grabby motions*

There's a LION SHAPED JELLY MOULD!!

A completely swoonable Hammond typewriter and an Edison phongraphic cylinder player...

Sometimes I think I may have to move to Melbourne.

You said 'sometimes'...

We have a long way to go Eumides.

Meanwhile - I have just been exploring the maps for the Marche aux Puces in Paris,

I will soon be in a seven hectare flea market surrounded by european goodies - uh oh...

I too have been forced to limit my attendance to Sunday only for half day... curses, for I have prepared for this many moons ago...
I could try to for tomorrow a half day... but voting is the morn and work commences at 1... which potentially only leaves me 1-2 hours of manifest goodness only for Saturday...

Is there any word on the Tim Burton meet up? Is it still going ahead or has it been scrapped?

I am still planning to attend, suitably attired, on the evening of the 30th.

Right now I am in Berlin trying to use a 'QWERTZ' keyboard...

(And I met ElShoggotho today!)

I can still make it - but not in the attire I was hoping to be in. Apparently I will trip and something catastrophic will happen  Roll Eyes So I'll have to find something more practical. Also probably something I can sit in, because I'll be in a class beforehand.

Ditto for me, though I might have to doublecheck it with her ladyship.

My class now ends at 7:30, but I tend to leave early and it's only a short tram ride for me, so any time beyond 7 works for me.

(Maduncle checking in from Paris - now on a 'azerty' keyboard)

Eight O'Clock suits me fine too - and I shall be wearing the latest accessories purchased today at a Paris flea market...

I also purchased an antique brass microscope in its box with tweezers and a slide...

And on the slide was a flea!

So I bought an antique flea from an antique flea market!

I shall see you around 8 o'clock, then. Due to maternal pressure, I will not be attending in a hoopskirt, but rather in exactly what I wore to Steampump. What a faux pas.

Maduncle, what will Customs make of the flea, I wonder Cheesy

8 o'clock sounds good to me as well... alas as I have been unwell lately I've not had a chance to get any SteamPunk attire, but I look forward to a good night anyway.  Grin

8pm should just give me time to close the office, fly by home for a quick change, and spur the horses on for Melbourne.  I did cheat a little and purchase an unlimited entry ticket for this exhibition so please do not count me in group ticketing numbers.
As an aside, the associated bar is completely suitable for minors as it is a licenced restaurant rather than just a bar.

Maduncle, your cat has finally settled into the office and spends his time staring out the window at the passing parade.  The children love him.

Perhaps just outside the exhibition, (on the federation square side) would be suffice?
Im going to check out the titanic exhibition in the museum in the early afternoon so Thursday evening should be very interesting indeed Smiley
