Several days ago, I was obliged to create an account on one of the myriad blogging web-sights, so that I might contribute to a small project I was working on with several friends. Along with the account however, came my own blog, which I had no interest in, the activity of describing the minutia of my life having little appeal to my sensibilities. However, I felt that I should not let it go to waste.

After a bit of speculation and thought, I decided to create a writing exercise out of it. I would start a story, told through letters between two persons, using the Blog posts as the letters! Capital idea, I thought to myself. A story quickly developed. Two young lovers, both from a small town in the english countryside, separated by they're lives. The man, I decided, would be on his way to the military, having joined up to avoid the monotony of a small town life. The woman would perhaps become embroiled in politics some how, most likely of the espionage type.

I sat down, and after a few hours had created two letters for the man, however when I went to write the responses, of the woman, I was stymied. My problem was not that I could not write from the perspective of the finer sex (for I am male) for this is no challenge to me, no my problem was that I could not figure out how to reasonably diversify my style of writing, so that it could be reasonably believed that these letters were written by two different person. That is when the idea came upon me! Get a writing partner! We could create the story together!

So it is that I turn to you, my dear friends of the Steampunk community. I am in need of a writer, male or female, to play the part female love, and write her letters in response to his. The details are flexible. I have small concept of the particulars to the world, though it shall (of course) incorporate the details of the Steampunk genre, so am quite willing to give full creative partnership to the other writer (though it should be said, and will be obvious should you read what I have so far, that the fantastical aspects of Steampunk shall be introduced slowly, or at least have been so far). Also, frequency of participation is versatile, though those who would be unable to contribute less than, say, once a month, would be less desirable than those who could.

So come one! Come all! Who has the mettle, the guts, the gusto to join me in this endeavor!?

The endeavor so far may be found here: http://systemofmyworld.blogspot.com/

I'd be willing to try, though I warn you in advance:  My schedule is hectic, at best, making me something of an irregular correspondent. But I'd be willing to give it a go. Cheesy

If his schedule proves too hectic, I could give it a shot - or if you need any other "voices".

Well, I hadn't really expected to get anyone willing, let alone two. Radio Saturday, if you can put together something a page or two long once or twice a month, then you should be fine.

I guess the best way to resolve it is both of you write up a response for the first or second letter, and whichever fits more gets it! I look forward to seeing what you can do.
