Ahh tea, what a wonderful gift from the gods.

Almost any type makes me happy. From Breakfast to Oolong...but:
Green tea with lemongrass and verbena is my norm.

A good Indian Chai makes me tingly. My Classical Indian Dance Guru (Bharatatnatyam Dance) mother was in town and she made the most AMAZING homemade Chai. What a delight! I could drink it all day long!

     Dear JingleJoe,

I'm not a "dipper", but I do like a ginger biscuit or a stick of shortbread with my beverage.

I had a really strange dream tonight.

I was making some tea in a huge (man-sized) cup and then adding milk and sugar which led to the milk separating from rhe rest at the bottom of the cup.
Perhaps I was just thirsty...

Where exactly can you get a man sized cup of tea? After your explanation of your dream I have a serious craving for some tea!

I'm sure others do this too, but-- My husband found that loose tea put in the expresso maker makes the strongest, most amazing teas possible, and relatively quick.  I've even started steaming milk and preparing it like I would coffees.  It's different, but delicious....  We call them tea-a-ccinos.

That's odd, when I tried it (I called it teaspresso) it was utterly undrinkably vile.  I must be doing it wrong!

Never with real milk or lemon (unless it's that powdered asian tea which has milk powder in it and is absolutely lovely)

the local shop does an amasing cardamom tea - complete with milk, wonderful stuff it is too.

otherwise its Twinings Breakfast everyday for me

Three cheers for Mr S Fry Esq.

Funny thing,

One of our Flight Attendants brought me a bag of Ty.phoo tea from England!

She asked "Do either of you enjoy tea?" and I just about choked on air to answer! (funniest part is I was JUST posting on this thread about tea!)

I'm a happy Tanvi.

I'm on an all-nighter tonight, so I'm expecting to have another dozen or so cups of tea tonight.

A prospect I'm not complaining about.

At work until 12:30 am my time (0030 local or 0430 zulu for those of you who know)

So I will thoroughly molest this bag of tea given to me.

I need to remind myself to get the recipe for my Guru's mum's Chai! (note to self)

Curiously, I was making a stock from a chicken yesterday. I tend to put all sorts of left-overs in such a stock but this time I decided that my post-cuppa Sencha tea leaves would make an interesting extra.  Perhaps not quite the tea pot One might usually imagine!

As something of an iconoclast, I cannot but recommend you try brewing tea with an energy drink, then straining and cooling it. Carbonate it as you see fit.

I believe this drink represents the pinnacle of retro-modern libation.

Ah, a drink with much refinement. My particular favorites are rather odd.

Lapsang souchong is one of my favorites. Good as a quick cup in the mornings with milk and sugar

When I have time for a "proper" tea service, I like "imperial gunpowder" tea. If you have never tried this tea, its a bit on the pricey side, but really quite extraordinary: the tea comes in small balls that resembles gunpowder. When placed in hot water, the balls expand and release their flavor. Smoky, earthy and very pungent. Much like Earl Gray without the Bergamot.

Cheers!

I actually happen to be drinking gunpowder tea at this very moment, which I brought back from my sojourn in the Orient!

I like Tazo very much (my brother working at Starbucks and getting me free Tazo has nothing to do with it!).

I prefer Zen and Chai.

Surely if the espresso machine water is not too hot for coffee it is too cold for decent tea?

My mother's aunt used to make me this fantastic homemade Anise tea when I didn't feel well. Tell me how it comes out!

I am very fond of Tazo as well. They make my favorite Earl Grey. Awake is also quite good - I'm fairly sure it's basically an English Breakfast Tea.
