Being that many of us are rather fond of Victorian aesthetic, how many of us here regularly drink tea? What brand? And how do you like it?

Earl Grey, flavorsome, refreshing and perfect for a mid-afternoon cuppa.

He's also got a rather good statue in a part of Newcastle that I'm very fond of.

Kind regards,

I drink several cups of tea per day, while I'm about to heat up my second cup of Oolong.  Usually I have green tea, but sometimes I will get out my fine teacups and enjoy a piping pot of Assam or Darjeeling with milk.  My mother has afternoon tea every day, and I honestly attribute her good health to the drinking of black tea.  I enjoy everything about high tea.

I drink at least one cup every day. English Breakfast in the morning, Earl Grey at lunch and normally a cup of Ceylon or Chai during the evening. I must have my breakfast tea though, without fail!

I used to drink lots of tea until about a year ago, but I prefer black coffee now.

Various teas every day, peppermint, earl grey, senchan, roiboosh.
I drink more coffee than tea but I still drink at least two to three cups of tea a day.

I consume this ambrosian elixir of the gods all day long; alternating
between Green Tea (which I now actually enjoy) and Earl Grey. This is
probably why I'm so "water" logged (what with the water, strong black
coffee, gin&tonics, and Scotch) and don't have much room left over
for kippers, bangers and mash   Grin

"waterlogged"; now that is a nice phrase. Could it be that this is Icelandic idiom? Since i've never heard it this far south.

I read that as repairing and modifying some old volunteers.   Shocked   (blame it on the lack of a really strong Brownian Motion liquid in a large enamel mug)

Our household is a bit tea-obsessed. We have an entire shelf in the pantry devoted to teas, about half of which is loose teas in glass jars. Heck one of my housemates works in a tea/coffee bar and is in charge of doing custom mixes for them.

My personal favorites are a good peppermint, or (when I need caffeine) Earl Grey de la Creme.

My favorite. It's caffeine free, perfect later in the evening.

I don't often find the time to sit down for a cup of tea, but when I do, it's:
Earl Grey
Lady Grey
Chai
Jasmine Green Tea
(all of the above with a disgusting amount of sugar)
Orange Pekoe
(2 sugars)
And strong Chamomile and other herbal teas (only from herbs i grow myself, not that herbal infusion junk) (without sugar.)

Never with real milk or lemon (unless it's that powdered asian tea which has milk powder in it and is absolutely lovely) <--- i have some kind of milk intolerance, i believe, although i love it.

also, (you brilliant thing, JingleJoe) i love to drink it with ginger snap biscuits (the really cheap ones, because they turn sort fo gingerbread-y, and are also full of sugar.)

hoorah!

(A note for anybody who cares to know: I'm a ceramics student and i'm making teapots at this stage, so i'd better find the time to use them!) <-- before the year is out i'll be overrun with teapots!!

I enjoy herbal teas; generally I can't stand any sort of black tea (I'd rather just have coffee!).

If I'm making a pot of tea, it's usually some sort of lemon flavour or Rosehip Hibiscus.  The only kind of tea that I add something to is Chai, which is too spicy for me: in that case I add a dash of soymilk and stevia.

Friends,
How fondly I have viewed this thread, wondering if it has existed prior. I particularly enjoy a cup of green, black, and any other chromatic variety of this magical infusion and have at least a cup per day. My dear father shares this interest (as well as an interest in fine spirits, perhaps another thread?) with me and together we have collected samples from many purveyors of the fine Ceylon leaf. Accordingly, we have both presented my mother with tea-boxes of our own making  on various holidays, that she may blend the different types to produce a taste to her liking.

Vivat Vaporia,
Victor C.

Tea, quite simply our household runs on the stuff. Black with two sugars is the norm round our way.
Over the last few months we have been touring the country in tea terms and have put together quite a list.

Highlights include;
Yorkshire Tea Gold - Fantastic flavor with suprising subtlety and no nasty aftertaste. The best of the bunch.
Yorkshire Tea - We imagined it would taste like it was stewed in a Navies boot and be so thick you could stand a spoon up in it. It wasn't.
Welsh Country Tea - Which did taste like the above, and led us to realize that it was not a good thing.
Victory(?) Tea - Comes in a Union Jack box and tastes so foul we thew it away long before we finished.

The real prize though was Captain Scott's Strong Blend Tea!
A blend designed for Captain Robert Falcon Scott on his expedition to the South pole in 1912 and now on sale at Tesco! When one is charting the migration of the great Air Kraken, or traveling in search of lost civilizations why not drink a tea blended for adventure? Wonderfully steampunk and the fact that it also tastes great is a bonus too.

I drink some 3-6 liters of tea a day mostly Earl Grey, some vanilla flavor stuff and this Princess(Original, eh?) stuff that has aphorisms printed on the little paper slabs that come with the tea bags.

I title myself a "Casual Tea Addict".

I'm definately in the tea party, with a pot of household blend or irish breakfast every morning.  Sometimes, I mix the former half-and-half with Earl Grey to give a lightly perfumed cup. (Milk, 1 sugar)

I'm a fan of green tea with Jasmine or mint, white tea with nothing, or mint, or even rosebuds (divine :-) ).

If I'm out in Cambridge though, there's a sweet little teashop which provides a blend by the name of Fresian - absolutely gorgeous.  Very malty.

As for biscuits - rich tea (with milk chocolate if I'm feeling particularly indulgent), digestive, ginger nut, hobnob or something homemade.  I also make a very passable teabread.
