So the other day i was driving into town, during the day for the first time in month, and i noticed some thing:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Joplin MO now has a trolley system! now some of you are thinking, yeah so what cities every where have trolleys and such. Well, up until like 2 years ago Joplin didn't even have taxis much less a transit system! and they look so classy and nice!

I'm rather happy to see my tax dollars being used wisely...now i just need to figure out some place i need to go so i can ride one!

I read that the US city I stuck in at the moment has a fleet of restored antique trolleys, but they quit running them due to budget cuts a few years ago. Drat!  I used to ride the trolly system in Vienna a lot.  It took longer, but saved the hassle of multiple changes on the subway.

Excellent news all round. Steamy public transport is best.

I wonder if they have  a Route 66.

Kind regards,

In this area route 66 is almost never used any more. so much so that i keep hearing right and properly silly "ghost stories" about "abandoned route 66" from younger kids. most sad... my home town though (not Joplin a tiny mining town called Granby) is right on route 66. most folks use hwy 71... funny part is there are three roads that have been hwy 71. so with the locals you have "old-old 71" "new-old 71" and "new 71" Tongue very silly.
