I suppose if one is trying to shoot chavs whilst not drawing attention to oneself it would be possible to miss them...

Oh, don't shoot them: preserve them, for study!

Before we can either help them or destroy them, first we must understand them. Innit!

If you're just after the brain, a small spice jar should suffice.

And I woory that Herr Doktor may be going native in his studies of them. I shall place this burberry cap in a muddy puddle and stamp on it, whilst observing his reactions.

*must.. refrain.. from.. shouting.. 'Oi getcha feet orfa moi cap, yer cow!'*

It's alright, I think the worst is past, as long as I wear the goggles and the face mask, I'll not be blinded by the "bling" and overpowered by the stench of cheap perfume and chip fat!

As to hunting them- my studies show they are best observed in their original habitat (not in Habitat, they don't go in there), may I suggest we go after something a little less dangerous and more sociable?

So, back to my previous suggestion of waiting 'til spring, and then view the dinosaurs of Crystal Palace emerging from their winter hibernation, that sounds a lot more entertaining, and less dangerous!

Here's the other picture I have from the meet that came out pretty well (except for Tiny, who got thirsty during the exposure):

So who is going to organize the next meet?

One place always worth going is the Kew Bridge Steam Museum.  Although I can't make it, the next time they're running the huge pumping engines is Feb 23rd/24th.  After that the next time is the Easter weekend.

Thanks for posting the pics, Professor (any please accept my apologies for the second one, I appear to be taking up more than my fair share of the foreground!).

Don't be silly, girl!  I wouldn't have posted the picture unless I liked how everyone looks.  I think this picture captures the atmosphere better than the first one, and the expressions on everyone's faces are more natural (well, except Tiny that is).

You dont block the view of anyone, your not pulling a silly face- in short you make the shot a great deal more pretty!

However on a far more serious note; Sir Jon appears to be partially visible behind me, leading me to the conclusion that he must be able to appear & disappear from photographs at will!

Great scott, that's some strong mojo he's got.  All my plates that showed ghostly images of him before have now faded completely!

This does not end here!  Next time Sir Jon, I'll bring the specially coated plates.  Then we'll see what strange type of devil you really are!

You all look so good in those pics...
I'm new here, and still finding my way around, BUT I live in Hove, right near to the Engineerium:
http://www.britishengineerium.com/
It's closed at the moment, but if anyone is interested I could look into maybe having a meet up there sometime in the future?

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd love a trip to the seaside (you did mean that Hove, right?), and steampunky goodness would only make it better.

So yep, if you get something organised, count me in!

Yep, that's right Rach. I'm sure you'd look fab Tiny. Ok, then I'll keep you informed, when I find out something. I have to say though, that it is a wonderful place, and I'm sure many good photo's would entail.

The Engineerium in Hove? That sounds like a plan: all in our finery, looking at big gears! Smiley
