Another one of those flying cars...
« on: August 06, 2022, 03:30:41 pm »
Another one of those flying cars has been approved for flight test by the FAA. The wings fold into the bonnet (hood) of the car, and a tail pops out from the boot (trunk)

The car is a hybrid apparently, and it can carry 2 passengers in cruise at 160 mph/ 16 000ft altitude. It has already passed all road tests.

The downside? You need separate pilot and driver's licenses and separate road and aircraft insurance. And some major airports like LAX are relatively difficult to land on and require more flight experience.  Otherwise it might be useful for small isolated communities far from the large cities which may have their own airports.
