I think I'll pass. I haven't needed Windows in a very long time. Maybe if I get hired for a real job,i might to get back to it...

Last time I messed with Windows 10 was having a hard time "de-bricking" a laptop that has UEFI instead of a BIOS. It basically made installing a replacement OS impossible.

Given the confusions on what is and isn't going to work or even half work that happend? Literally while my eyes were healing from surgery. 'Yea I ain't going to deal with people who aren't going t obe up front on if their product will even work or not.' Went back to linux.

Since that point it ws 'oh you need tpm 2.0 AND a processor that's a few years old. Oh wait now that's just 'recommended you can try it otherwise.' Then 'Ah but if you don't have the magic approved list updates MAY stop coming at any time' plus questinons on gaming performance and this andthat and...

'No.'

I'm taking some hits on gaming in linux because that's how it do be I guess, but my little box from about ten years ago is humming along just fine with eight gigs of ram, an ssd, and the 1030 I put in it (the 40watt rail really does limit my options on that front. Ah well.)

I have no real NEED to upgrade. I would certainly want to, but need? Nah I'm good.

Unfortunately not everyone is so lucky. Work software that NEEDS windows being a big reason for having to stay. I have someone i fell out of touch with that.... they're not well off financially and as a sort of last gift from their mother before she passed, they had gotten what was at the time a MONSTER computer.... that falls just outside of the blessed processor list for windows 11, and they have work related software that doesn't play nice with linux.

This a specially castrated gutted version, heavily modded by myself
With many "features" removed, and certain specialty software added,
Which includes a variety of vpns to choose from, a strong "sandbox"
in which to run suspect items, and several frozen versions of modified browsers.

I actually bought several more copies of win7 on DVD with koshered product keys, just in case,
And over the years I have acquired 3 more old laptops with win 7 and an HP "all in one" desktop

I did kowtow to modernia and got an HP deskside running win 10 so I can run various commercial crap
Necessary software... But I promptly castrated that one too.

Especially the part about using MY machine as a repository to contact and update OTHER machines.

I am already having to hack my air-conditioner because the evil ones think they can limit my lowest temperature setting. The day I have to hack a fridge or washer is the day I start collecting and rebuilding them too.... Damn this autocorrect!

I may have to hack my Subaru auto firmware. .. grrrrrr
