Hello All,
I'm James from Birmingham (The one in the U.S., sadly) I've been following Steampunk for many years, and have only mildly dabbled in making devices before. Recently, however I have begun wanting to make more and bigger items. I have been building Halloween attractions and costumes for approximately 22 years now, and still dabble from time to time. I have been lurking here for a few months now, and have seen some amazing inventions, which I plan to thoroughly scour for inspiration. I am comfortable working with EVA foam and Worbla(Heat formed plastic), as well as wood, styrofoam, and some metals. I'm happy to be here and looking forward to stimulating, educating conversations!

Thank you!
I just spent a couple of hours building a jetpack for my five year old son, made from things I had lying around and some scrap pieces of 3mm EVA foam.

He seems to be enjoying it. He is currently zipping around the room, bouncing off of light fixtures and generally causing chaos as only a five year old can. I just wanted to post photos before I go back to working on my own devices.
