I have determined that I am most likely Wyoming's SOLE SteamPunk.  Therefore on this day November 23, 2007 I am declaring myself KING of Wyoming Steampunks.   I invite all the Steampunks of the world to visit me at court, which I will reward with a title of your own to use in the Steam-Kingdom of Wyoming. I may also decide to print my own money.

On the news of my first subject, I shall abdicate the throne.

I am humbly yrs.

King Zen.

Where in Wyo are you?

My semi-Steampunk boyfriend is a native of Sheridan, and we're going back to Sheridan and then down to Casper this Christmas to visit his family.

The Court of the King of Wyoming Steampunks is in Casper, WY.   I am thinking of Annexing Montana, Idaho, and the Dakotas in my Kingdom.  I have decided if I print my own money they will be called Wyoming SteamBucks.

But if you have time to visit me at court, that would be great.  I will start thinking of titles for you.

Someone here has to be a musician! That name really does need to be used for a song.

I'm considering going to college in Wyoming, but that's a very big maybe right now. But, if my steampunk-y friends and I ever do take that road trip we've been considering, we'll have to come visit you and your kingdom.  Cheesy

I think I need someone to design the Wyoming SteamBuck notes.   I will of course pay in Wyoming SteamBucks.

My good man, this is a wonderful idea. I know for a fact I am not the only steampunk in Arizona or even just in Phoenix but as no one else has yet laid claim to the title I will take the initiative and declare the greater metro area (Phoenix) as a separate city state under the rule of myself, Grand Supreme Steampunk Emperor For Life Thipp, Lord of Phoenix. I might throw in a few more words just to make myself sound even more impressive.

We should have a summit of our great nations!  I'll gladly host.

Here is my submission for the Steambuck, my good king!

I.. was honestly bored. I apologize for my lack of talent! Surely you will recognize the scene to be the common man reflecting on the great historical terror of an air kraken attacking a flying machine, to which we must never forget the sacrifice of the pocketwatch that lept to it's doom.

I shall have to tax my peasants into abject poverty so I can afford to take a trip out of the country for awhile but surely a summit of great nations is a must.

Thipp and Charleson Mambo, you have encouraged to me claim my own bit of land! I know I'm not the only steampunk in south eastern Tennessee, but all that's important is that I claim it before they do! I, therefore, dub myself High Steampunk Empress Calliope Jane, Lady of the Tennessee River and the Greater Empire of Eastern Tennessee.

So, when is that summit, Mr King of Wyoming Steampunks? I love going out of the country.

This is a grand idea! Personally, I find governance a bothersome chore and would scarcely want an entire kingdom, but I certainly will re-christen this North Hollywood flat block Lexington Manor, and myself its Lord.

All fellow steam sorts are welcome (we're not all punks, and I shan't discriminate on such grounds). There's beer left over from Thanksgiving.

As some of these annexes are rather close, I shall have to warn you that the Territory of Colorado is the domain of myself, the Skypirate Admiral Gabriel Etherington, and any attempt to claim Kingship of said lands shall be taken as a declaration of War!

As the representative of the Duchy of Fort Collins, I am, of course, Adml. Etherington, at your disposal.

I welcome any ambassadors from the Kingdom to the south, and would like to open diplomatic relations with you.  I was certain that Colorado would have its own vibrant steampunk population and I have no designs on that territory other than the occasional state visit.

In fact, michaelbeeman above is at least the 3rd forum member I have talked with that is also here in Colorado.
I suspect that, via this forum and members bringing their steampunk friends who do not post here, a north Denver/Boulder area gathering of near a dozen people might be doable without too much trouble.

Oh, and not Kingdom. It's not ruled by a king, it's lorded over by a Skypirate...  Wink

Aye Aye, Admiral, rather like the idea of being a Sky Pirate! (I wonder if I'll have to resign the Ministry Of Gentlemanly Science post over in Victoriana? I'm only an underling after all.)
And yes, let's consider a north Denver/Boulder area gathering after the first of the year. Feel free to PM me or whatever!

Oh, my apologies.  It must be the Sky-Admiralty of Colorado then?

(Well according to Gilbert & Sullivan Pirates can be kings as well...)

i wouldn't have the nerve to declare myself Royalty of my area, i just found out that the Mighty Datamancer lives in my county....
You know, i smelled greatness but couldn't identify its origin. Now i know....

i shall simply lay claim to be Queen of my own Household. my dogs may disagree...
