Something I found:



This clip is from the 1958 Czech film "Invention for Destruction" based on the writings of Jules Verne. I had never seen it before, but now that I'm looking at it, it seems like it could be the model for modern amateur film makers. The effects used in the film, including photographic compositing of animation and live action, would have been very complicated when the film was made, but many of the effect could be archived with consumer software today.

Fascinating clip - of course, it was a Czech author who wrote R.U.R - Rossum's Universal Robots...
