Actress Markie Post. 04/11/1950-07/08/2021.

Wow. That's two Night Court actors on the same year... Harry Anderson and John Larroquette must be sweating a bit.

No. Harry Anderson hasn't been doing any sweating since 2018.

That's terrible! I had no idea. At least he died in his sleep.

Excuse me. I'm retiring to my chambers. I feel terribly old now.

*EDIT
Actually I do remember now. We did discuss Harry Anderson's death, either in this thread or a previous one.

Ed Asner has passed away:

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/ed-asner-dead-lou-grant-1235004802/

In recent years, he may have been best know for voice acting; Carl from "Up"; Ed Wuncler Sr. from "Boondocks", etc. In his lifetime, his best known role was as Lou Grant on the "Mary Tylor Moore" show and later on the "Lou Grant" show, but his filmography goes way beyond those few characters.

Never been a great Reggae fan, but I did get into Lee 'Scratch' Perry, Scientist and Mad Professor for a bit and attended a few dub gigs back in the mid 80's / early 90's.

I was shocked to hear an announcement on the radio that Norm McDonald has died. He was one of the funniest comedians out there and didn't pander to politics.

Sir Clive Sinclair: Computing pioneer dies aged 81.

I've just seen that on the news - very sad. I didn't use Sinclair computers back in the day (I started off with a CBM VIC-20 and then stuck with Commodore), but I can appreciate what he tried to do, even when it was too ambitious for the technology of the time (i.e. the ill-fated C5). Shame his e-bike didn't take off considering they are now all the rage.

Yours,
Miranda.

We've recently lost two that were a part of my childhood.

Peter Scolari has passed away. He's best known as Michael on "Newhart", and played the scientist father on the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids" TV series, but I first knew him from the Some-Like-It-Hot-inspired TV series "Bosom Buddies" where he played Jack Lemmon to Tom Hanks' Tony Curtis.

Also lost is Joanna Cameron. Maybe you don't recognize the name. She was Isis on the Shazam/Isis hour on American Saturday morning television in the late 1970's. Her character was a female counterpart to Shazam. I heard this on Facebook, and I can not find a news article to confirm her death, so I apologize if this news is greatly exaggerated.

Morton Lyon Sahl (May 11, 1927 – October 26, 2021) was a Canadian-born American comedian, actor, and social satirist, considered the first modern comedian since Will Rogers. Sahl pioneered a style of social satire that pokes fun at political and current event topics using improvised monologues and only a newspaper as a prop. Mort Sahl is credited with inspiring such stage comedians as Lenny Bruce, Jonathan Winters, George Carlin, and Woody Allen.
