I would hazard a guess and say that the reason for that oversight is that the [TV] "Avengers" series is ancient history in the eyes of the breathlessly relevant reporting of the up-to-the-minute media. It was, omg, from the 60s! To be sure, the Bond movie was ancient history too, but with Daniel Craig keeping the brand alive, the name "Bond" is still recognized (aka "marketable".) |

In any case it's been a terrible year for any fan of The Avengers with losing Honor Blackman back in the spring, and of course it's also not been that many years since Patrick Macnee passed on. Someone had better put a safety screen around Joanna Lumley pdq...
