And here is my second project! It's a scarf, the colours chosen to resemble copper and verdigris. It's still a WIP, and when finished the orange will be as long as the green, split in the middle

You are learning many new things, Caledonian! Congratulations, and well-knitted. My father tried to teach me many years ago and the result was something somewhere between macrame and diabolical crochet - so I leave knitting to those who know how to do, and confine myself to things I know how to do!

What was your first project?

Well done, that young lady! Grin

Well, I'm impressed! I tried knitting several times and it all ended badly... If I have to do things with yarn I crochet. Amazing effort - it looks so neat and uniform!

I spend a lot of time alone in my room so I picked up knitting as a new thing to try to combat boredom.
Thank you for the compliments!

My first project was also a scarf, in blue white and black, which my partner now owns

Good work Caledonian.

My Grandmother taught me to knit but I am painfully slow!  I knitted a pair of babies bootees once (only once) and by the time I'd finished them the baby was walking!!!!!
So now I stick to sewing as much as I can and crochet if I have to include yarn  Cheesy

You have to tread a fine line between avant-garde surrealism and getting yourself sectioned...

A crocheted/knitted cravat?

Oh...my old war wound? I got that at The Battle of Dorking. Very nasty affair that was, I can tell you.

The Ministry of Tea respectfully advises you to drink one cup of tea day...for that +5 Moral Fibre stat.

So far I've only made scarves, but that's a great idea Grin

We have Christmas with our daughter. The whole thing includes son-in-law's parents, brother, uncle & aunt, cousins, their partner's and any children as well as my brothers, their wives, their grown up sons and partners and this year baby twins. 26 in all. We all go all-out to set up a festive dining room - it is completely over the top, but we love it.

My 1st attempt at baby bootees  was  completed  with swift ease. Unfortunately  they were so large, they didn't fit said child until she was walking.

Probably, yeah. I must say it was freezing when I was in Glasgow, but here in Aberdeen it seems to be much warmer. I blame the sea.

Oh wow! A round knitted thing - I'm impressed again - didn't really think about how you could knit a round thing - just thought you would do a square and stitch it together to make a tube.
