Hornby O clockwork, date unknown. O gauge, by that time, was largely super-deformed in Hornby's catalogue, as Dublo was starting to prove more practical; so they decided to drop anything more sophisticated. By around 1957, all the finer pieces were gone and only these compacted super-deforms were available. They echo the oldest Hornby items and have no relation to the box cover art!
