André Previn dies at the age of 89.

Quote
The conductor and composer André Previn has died at the age of 89.

His manager told the BBC he died at his home in New York on Thursday morning.

Previn is best known for ditching a lucrative career in Hollywood to pursue his love of classical music as a jazz pianist.

During his lifetime he won four Oscars but many will remember him attempting to perform Grieg's piano concerto with Morecambe and Wise.

He was the legendary conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra who was married five times.

Dan Robbins: Paint-by-numbers inventor dies at 93

Quote
Dan Robbins, the artist behind the paint-by-numbers craze that swept America, has died in Sylvania, Ohio, at the age of 93, his son told the AP news agency.

He was working at a paint products firm in the 1940s when he invented the kits.

By the 1950s millions were being sold across the US every year.

His inspiration for the idea came from Leonardo da Vinci, who used a similar method when teaching his apprentices how to paint.

Mr Robbins first joined Palmer Paint, a company selling children's paint sets, after serving in World War Two.

I used to see Mayhew at conventions when my business partner was a booking agent for actors. I drove him across Omaha once, from a restaurant back to the convention hall. Rest in peace.

Tim Conway (December 15, 1933 – May 14, 2019), of McHale's Navy, The Carol Burnett Show, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Conway was perhaps best known for his collaborations with Harvey Corman on The Carol Burnett Show, where Conway (a hardcore deadpan improvisationist) would take great pleasure in causing Corman (a strict script-perfectionist) to crack up on camera.
