Hello,
I am interested in learning bow to display vacuums tubes on a desk as a lamp or create something completely unique and working with them. Basically i am wanting help in learning how to set this up, i have a large collection of tubes & tube sockets that i want to make into displays. i would like some information on how to begin doing this. Any information or links to info related to this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Bruce

Unless you are comfortable working with potentially dangerous voltages I would avoid wiring up the tubes themselves. Instead I would recommend using low voltage LEDs behind/under the tubes to give interesting effects. Look up colour changing, flashing, and flickering LEDs.

You have to know what you want to make/build before you start making/building.
Youtube is great for the "how-to" part (been known to use it myself, and rather extensively, at that Grin)
Google Steampunk Lamps,  Steampunk Household Items, or really just Steampunk [insert name of object], then click on Images.
You'll be inundated with pics of some really fantastic stuff.
That is how I got ideas for my keyboard... not a few of which I "borrowed"  Roll Eyes (misappropriated?) for some of the embellishments.

What would be the negative to only powering up
the heaters with DC?
