While looking for garden images for another project [ I can do an "are  garden screens..." thread, if there is popular demand], shots of out door bathrooms came up.  It raised a question for me

Electric, gas, wood, solar heated baths and showers.  Luxury and utilitarian.  There is a certain appeal in relaxing back and taking in the view wile soaking off the day's toil and troubles

I'm at the cottage in a small closet there is a wood heated shower. He looks good. But we do not use it, there are more modern options .

Outdoor bathing can be as Steampunk as you want, provided you have the right climatic conditions!!

It's only Steampunk if the water heater requires a Stationary Engineer's licence.

Had to look that job description up. I'm not sure that as a lady, I would feel comfortable  with a man in a hard hat and overalls standing by while I bathed...  Though of course that  does depend...

Freezing in winter, mosquitos and the possibility of snakes transiting the bathroom in summer - nup, not for me! We used to have one of those chip heater kind of thingies in our bathroom when I was a kid, only ours was gas, not wood.

It certainly is. I had an old rumpty tin  shed in the back yard. I painted it with a moon and stars on the front.  My elderly neighbours took to calling it   The  Giant Outhouse.

I think it would be determined on how you set it all up. I would love to have one or two of those shown up above with all the plants etc. Definitely have to show to husband and see if I cant have this as a birthday or anniversary present!  Wink

Yes a steamy jungle setting  would be rather atmospheric and relaxing

When I was resting on the Curonian spit, I came across such a house in the forest.
