The moon appeared huge earlier on, when it rose above the tops of the mountains. Then, with perfect celestial timing, just as the occlusion commences ... I have the perfect position on my back deck, north facing, countryside, up in the mountains, and it starts disappearing behind clouds!
Bugger!
There will be another lunar eclipse in July, but not a super blue blood moon .... dammit, dammit, dammit!

Update: Clouds have cleared. Lovely! Not red here (11.19pm), but Western Australia will get a beauty in a couple of hours!

Bleh. It was overcast all morning here as well, just like every other blood moon, blue moon or supermoon in the last decade.  Cry

Same here, overcast.
It seems like no one on the entire planet was able to see the supermoon.  Sad

Ah well, better luck next time.

Was red and all mysterious here. Skies completely clear despite clouds being forecast. Lovely sight!

It was beautiful once the clouds cleared. In fact, it was beautiful with the cloud, as the cloud was very thin, wispy and quite patchy, and the moon still appeared quite large.

Fog got in the way here. But the following night, the sky was clear, and the moon was so bright you could read a book just with the moon light!
