The best part is that these guys seem like they really "get" steampunk.  Despite what's been said about commoditization, I can find no fault with this.  If what you say is true, then it isn't like they aren't doing some half-assed Wild Wild West game, but something that will has the spirit intact along with the trappings.  If people are popularizing steampunk without destroying it, who cares.  Something like this could be a fantastic gateway for really genuine people who love steam and just don't know it yet.

I realize my response is going to sound rather crash and or boorish but my thoughts about this project are as follows, and I quote.

If you click on one part of the page there is this mech-ish bike and a guy with guns. Is this thier logo, because it doesen't look steampunkish to me...

I think that's just some concept art. I thought it looked Steampunk, at least as Steampunk as the LXG car did.

Actually I've never been to this 4chan place. However enough of my friends have used that statement as an expression of extream desire of a thing that I felt it appropriate to describe my interest in this project. Given the music alone I would buy this as well as the computer i will need to run this.

Ahhh dman... talk about a one two punch.

Well I just got an e-mail from Zeitguyz. While they enjoyed my music, they've decided not to outsource, as it is too risky at this time.

Then I got a myspace message from my friend who runs a record label out of NY, saying that he'd like to support my project, but at th moment the tracks I have don't really fit the style of his label. BUT, to keep sending him stuff, because he would like to check out my work as it progresses.

I'm actually totally cool with both decisions, just feel a little bummed.

Oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait till my LP is done, and sell it through cdbaby, etc.

Thanks... I truly appreciate it.

Sometimes I feel like I'm the blacksheep of the music world, because I don't readily prescribe my sound to any one genre, or really try to appeal to a certain crowd. But damn it, I like it that way!  Wink
