Only free range is worth eating, none of that factory farmed stuff - no real flavour, and very dry!

Oh my God! I was reading this:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haggis

To acquaint myself a little better with the beasts.

Quote
A joke sometimes maintained is that a haggis is a small Scottish animal with longer legs on one side, so that it can run around the steep hills of the Scottish highlands without falling over. According to one poll, 33 percent of American visitors to Scotland believed haggis to be an animal.

I think we've talked about Scotch Eggs being in reality unhatched Haggis eggs.
There is Kosher Haggis? ! And "Fake Haggis" from Canada, being the unnatural offspring of Haggis and Spam. Usually called "Spammis, " they're known to be born sterile, I understand.

I wonder if there's a Japanese version of this. Wagyu Haggis ?

And Haggis Hurling is a vile sport which should be banned along bullfighting as a type animal cruelty!

I've eaten haggis 3 times.  Once it was delicious.  The other two were VILE.
But then I don't like offal meats at any time.

It just occurred to me that if Kosher Haggis is Mediterranean Haggis, then Chorizo, as it is made from chopped offal must be Spanish Haggis!

Very congratulations!

I do not envy your relatives the sleep they will now miss.....

(I've just finished building my daughters half room size high bed with stair storage and shelf pillars).

The desking underneath is now on the agenda. (then the soft close shoe draws under the stair risers, then the hall way wall/book shelf replacement in the upstairs hall way.....) Give me strenuous joinery or bring me DEATH! Hazzah!

It's a little far out still (meteorology-wise) but I think we will have some very rare February snow this next Sunday-Monday! On my 2 days off!

I'm debating whether to do a full uniform Steampunk photoshoot.... God knows at this rate I'll probably never be able to do it in a place like this:

had the impulse to do some ... unconventional art lately, fully knowing that I really cannot talk to most people about painting with actual blood, sweat and tears (and maybe ashes from burnt hair nails and skin... and maybe going further with other experiments) but my online art friends get all excited by the ideas.

All of the puzzle boxes I've made in the last couple of years have included blood and sweat, but only a few have had tears as well. I'm just glad that wood doesn't absorb language.  Wink

Out in my garden putting bird seed in the feeder, happened to glance at the pond and saw a newt trapped under ice.
Being amphibian, I would say cold and lack of air, spent 10mins trying to melt the ice, managed to rescue her, 5 more minutes in cupped hands and felt movement.
Happily crawled into one of my many Hibernaculas.
Job done I hope.

Texas-styled 4½ inches of snow.
Yes, the sky is that blue. No photo manipulation

Texan snow? Pffffttt - saw it already on our news down here.  Wink

So, after years of hints and whining (from me)... we are finally putting an extension on my glasshouse! We got big old free windows on Gumtree and attach them together to make the walls, then put an alsonite roof on it. Only got the roof to go, then I have to paint it. So pleased!

My first attempt at putting photos up from imgbb...

My dream cubbyhouse - made from recycled timber and whatever else we could scrounge for free on Gumtree. I even made a parquetry floor from recycled hardwood - cut it to size, glued it down, then sanded it, caulked the gaps with black gunge, sanded again then varnished it. Also painted everything and made the pillows and bunting for the inside. (the pictures better work now!)
