Oh my do I have a tale to share my fellow explorers and tinkerers!
As many of you know, I have been very nearly shoved off of my workbench and forced to accompany a cadre of air sailors on their exploits. The heads of the Royal Academie told me it was to test my new weapon, but I am starting to wonder if they just wanted the space I took up...
Anyhow, I have been having such a grand time in the skies! Our latest adventure took us through the Sky Islands, which if you haven't seen them you really must! To see such a fantastic city they have built on those floating mountains... how DO they float anyways? I suspect it has to do with those large buzzing and glowing discs that are mounted in various places around the city, but no one would discuss it with me or the crew of The Inexplicable.
We did find a great many treasures there, some of which I have brought back to trade for goods with you find people, but first I wanted to share an image The Inexplicable's chef created to illustrate the danger we all faced on this expedition! See fig. 01.

This was a large beast we very nearly didn't make our hasty escape from! No one recognized the species, and personally I hope we don't ever have chance to find out more than this. I must say that our chef is a fine renderer! If his culinary talents weren't so integral to our ship's morale, I might encourage him to pursue an artist's life.
Now, on to the spoils!

Our trip first began when the Captain picked up this trinket in a local Curio shop. It was purported to be some sort of map, although we didn't discover until we arrived that it was a Spelunker's Treasure Map! Naturally we weren't expecting to explore caves inside Sky Islands, in fact no one even suspected they would house caves of any sort! Naturally, we had to procure more supplies and this did tax our budget quite an amount and drove our treasurer bonkers when we brought her the tally! She gave the Captain what-for that evening, I'll tell you!
Along the way our dear field scientist took samples of these amazing creatures, which I have had metal-plated to preserve their strange beauty! They do make such unique pendants:

So after a long and arduous journey... that I shall refrain from boring you to death with the details of... we finally discovered this in a catacomb under the citadel:

Isn't it charming? The inscriptions were revealed to translate roughly to "The Eye of Reclaimation" although none of us has the clue to what THAT means! Ha!
Has anyone here seen one of these before?
Oh! I shouldn't neglect to mention some earrings I picked up from a merchant in Sky Island City:

I do like them, and so I brought back these extras in the hopes that someone back home might also enjoy owning a pair of these hard to find accessories! I do tend to get comments and questions on my wardrobe when I am freshly back from my adventures... I guess we explorers get used to the exotic in our travels until it becomes a new form of commonplace!
Anyways, if you are interested in any of these items, do feel free to come visit my shop... or if you'd simply like to come keep me company, it does get boring sitting between those walls after soaring the heavens and facing such dangers down! Captain tells me we aren't scheduled to shove out for another week or two due to repairs being given to the hull and the 3rd engine. Sigh...
In Solidarity!
