My weapons are my skills. Information is the blood of my body. I am part of the greater network. I am host to the vast data of server. My flesh is weak, But my connection is eternal, And therefore I am a god.

So... I was thinking that perhaps we could share what kind New Year's night we are passing. I'll start first, and if you feel like it, follow suit by posting what you're doing or what you did for New Year's. I'm waiting for midnight, at home because I had an evening work shift today, and no one invited me to a party My lazy *ss roommate is asleep on the couch, as he apparently had the whole day off, and can't even be bothered to watch the passing of the year on TV. I'm eating dinner and watching the TV programme "Drunk History" (lots of 19th C history told by genuinely drunk people and acted out by various comedians and actors in costume). I'm also very drunk (which explains this post) on some bad tasting "Redd's Apple Ale," which I bought on the cheap at the super (I'll try anything once), and which supposedly only has 5% alcohol, but quite frankly, feels like it's got 3 times as much... How about you? What are you doing / did at midnight?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We have been dragging ourselves through a "winter bug" that started on Christmas eve. Not as bad as the flu but worse than a winter cold and lasting longer than a week.
We began New Years by sleeping in ( ie till 2pm !!!! ) and watching the newsreels of the Surrealistic Dubai Hotel fire, which was followed immediately and inexplicably by the giant Dubai Fireworks shows. (If I recall, this is one of a string of highrise fires in Dubai?)
Proceeded to binge-watch Dr Who on BBC-America
Switched to Mythbusters Marathon whilst dining on sale-priced salmon & rice from the grocer's sale.
and we are now ringing in the new year with cider while watching the uncut dvd of Big Trouble in Little China.
I hope this finds you all well, and wishing everyone a healthy & happy 2016

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. We rang in the New Year in traditional Spanish style, with lots of dear friends, a table full of good food the ritual of the 12 grapes at midnight and a very decent pink champagne (Veuve Emille) to toast 2016.
Today, I'll be watching the New Year's Concert eating pineapple as I prepare my kit for a two Artesan's Fair (Avalon Winterfest). Steampunk Madrid has been asked to give workshops and generally walk about dressed in our finest during the fair to add a touch of the fantastical to the goings-on.
I'm scheduled to do a workshop on hat-pins and will use the day putting beads and things in little pots and plastic bags, packing it all up and then at tea-time, helping with the set-up of stalls and so on for tomorrow's opening.
It should be good fun!
I remain yours, Prof. Cecily

In the Antipodes it was New Yeas day yesterday . Took the day quietly. Did some cleaning .
Shook the cream for the chocolate and raspberry Bavarian cheesecake into butter accidentally .While watching Mad Max 2 { the Road Warrior in some countries} on blu ray to warm up for Mad Max 3 Thunder Dome on TV.
This year has been dreary for Christmas and New year movies and specials. No old classics rolled out . No bizarre documentaries on aliens. No vintage music specials.
Tonight I will go through the old cardboard box to find an old film noir or B grade sci fi. It could be Wizards or Frankenstein
