What is best in life?
Quote
"to crush your enemies, see them driven before you and hear the lamentations of their women."
- Conan the Barbarian, (Robert E. Howard)
Quote
"hot water, good dentishtry and shoft lavatory paper"
- Cohen the Barbarian, (Sir Terry Pratchett)

This thread is for summing up what you personally consider to be the best things in life in three or so subjects. We all know about the famous barbarian heroes, I'm curious about how others might answer the question.

For me: Doctor Who, Fishing, and Sushi. (bit silly I know) WinkRoll Eyes

Not an easy one to answer.

for me:

#1 my wife (not a THING, but the BEST that could ever have happened to me)

#2 being a voluntary fireman. This means having a team that makes anything possible and helping other people, sometimes even saving lives.

#3 my steam locos (5" gauge) tinkering, building, servicing and enjoying the cold lump of steel come to life soon after the fire is lit. The sound of a steamer going uphill with a heavy load behind the tender is addictive.

Hmmm, tricky!

1. Being still alive and still mobile after a few MVAs that could so easily have gone the other way.

2. Family (some of them) and friends.

3. Art, books and music, both the painting, reading, playing, listening to and viewing of, not necessarily in any order.

Depending on the day any or all of these, but I think being alive, walking, and still with all my marbles is the major one.

1. My husband

2. Books - any books.

3. Creative imagination and (sometimes) ability.

but on a lighter (although more calorie laden) note:
