The word pagan came from paganus , who mean peasant . Its was a way to significate than christianism was the religion of the elite and paganism the one of the savage worker class.

''Trickster shows us how we trick OURSELVES. Her rampant curiosity backfires, but, then, something NEW is discovered (though usually not what She expected)! This is where creativity comes from—experiment, do something different, maybe even something forbidden, and voila! A breakthrough occurs! Ha! Ha! We are released! The world is created anew! Do something backwards, break your own traditions, the barrier breaks; destroy the world as you know it, let the new in.''

What is it? It looks like a mortar or some sort of siege artillery. bit on the ostentatious side, isn't it! Or the WWI 'Big Bertha' - had to go by rail.

Hard to check scale in those little images, but probably something like this:

German 210mm Howitzer - the recuperator has failed and the barrel has dropped rearwards as it would normally under recoil and hasn't been brought back forward.

Is there an historical plaque or anything? Maybe a builder's plate? You know as well as I do that you want to go back and look!

If you click on the images it opens them up huge in a new window (well it does in Firefox, anyway).
