I've been working on a pitch for an animated series set in a steampunk universe for some time now (years) and have it nearly ready.
I have a pilot script and am very happy with how it's turned out.
What I'm missing... is the name to the city where the story takes place.
I need something great and have racked my brain to find something I like.
You all helped me think of a name for the group of people who worship machines (which is amazing, thank you!) so I'm reaching out again.
(Also, if you're interested in reading the pilot, let me know.)
The city is surrounded by a wall to protect it from the mechanical monsters outside.
Aaaaand, GO!

You could name the city after a famous wall from history e.g. The Walled City of Hadrian.

perhaps something dystopian with a utopian meaning like
Unity city Amity city [ jaws reference] Progress City
Is there a feature or theme of this city to incorporate into the name?
Like say if it was built for or around plant growing or gardens - Botanic City
by the sea or coast - City of Sails
Oasis Volcanic City Valhalla City Atomic City for a previously bombed or radio active area

Depends on the city type (open structures or enclosed mega-building etc)... a rough description would help. Mapleduram Arcology

London, New York, Paris, New Orleans, and St. Louis are good city names.
Terminus; Atlanta was once called that.

Oh, phew!
When I saw someone asking for city names, I felt a tingle of fear trickle down my spine at the risk someone might inadvertently suggest the one I thought up and cherished as a location for my own stories.
I do like the name "Hadrian", too, though, but perhaps some adjective or noun may need to be appended to it, as it is also the name of a rather formidable Roman emperor.

There's a town called Apex, the highest point on the North-South railroad on the east coast. You never know...
Make the City name work for you...you could use a pun on what you're trying to express, a Latin or Greek description of the theme of the story. Or create a famous progenitor that it's named after. Something like that?

Were it me, I'd try to sweet-talk Mistress Nephele into conjuring an anagram from something like "Humanity's Hope".
