My ears are still weeping abnormal substances, dripping and messing up the furniture. (Be Warned)

That was absolutely AWESOME!!!  Leave it to the Japanese to combine the best of two music genres and come up with something awesome!

Ya, I am a big fan of Anime. And Metal music. It wouldn't be a stretch to hear something like this at the beginning of an anime cartoon.

Umm, OK, glad you enjoyed it Mr Rat.

I must admit the Japanese culture is a strange one, anime tentacle stuff an all, they have some of the best airbrush fantasy artists on the planet, but musically? Not so sure  Undecided

Ha ha ha ha ha!

I'm surprised you hadn't seem this before Mr Seven.  Mr. Argus Fairbrass actually is the one who introduced me to this phenomenon a couple of years back.  I'm not entirely sure which thread it was on (the WTF thread is a good guess), but certainly it left me dumbfounded!

Lolita Goth and Death Metal, just seems so wrong at so many levels...  Like Mr. Fairbrass said, "only in Japan."

They are playing this on Kerrang Radio at the moment, so bad I thought I just had to share.

Kill the thread if you wish.

No need to remove unless it bothers people.  It made me chuckle as will others.  Besides, threads in off topic automatically fade away and eventually are cleaned anyway...

Ah! http://springcleanyourbrain.blogspot.co.uk/2011/04/marmite-hypothesis-and-its-place-in.html

The Marmite Hypothesis: (not to be mixed up with the Marmite theory, that's something completely different.)
There are some things that act as a binary social reactive substance.  You either love them, or hate them.
They seem to naturally polarise opinion as soon as they come into contact with people.

I fear, Mr SeVeNeVeS, that you've just located a big fat one.

I bet Strawberry Switchblade are doing revolutions over this. Cheesy

Since Babymetal's success (a surprise to everyone, their manager/creator included) a host of clones have appeared, none of whom have quite the distilled essence of wtf as the originals.
It was inevitable, but they've even had a song written for them by Dragonforce  Grin Grin Grin

Good old dragonforce, the things they can do with an electric guitar. Don't get me wrong Brian May is the king in my book (the man's a ****ing jedi, "you must build your own guitar Luke") Still, wow.

I'd post a video of Gwar. But unfortunately I can't find any that's family friendly. If you were within 20 feet of the stage you were guaranteed to get spattered with somehting.  Cheesy

Nay sir! The eclectic never apologise or should ever feel misplaced guilt.
As long as the fetishes are all legal then no one has any business judging the eclectic mind.

I like a bit of Erasure from time to time and a LOT of bonzo dog...

If we go back to the Japanese thing there's aways Hatsune Miku. This is a 3D hologram projected derring live shows all across the world. Even here in the states.

this is a collection of studio vids. go to youtube and type in 'Hatsune Miku' and you'll find parts to entire live shows.

Miku is the only one so far on this thread that anyone can play with.  Wink As a prerecorded syllable-based artist, she will sing anything you program her as the main voice in a program called Vocaloid. When they were younger, my kids spent a slow week working out, and putting in, every syllable of 500 Miles. As the syllables are all Japanese it isn't perfect, but is surprisingly close.
And as musical abominations go, it's way up there! Grin
