I am now offering metalwork and fabrication services for the general public.

The intention is to give access to high quality engineering facilities for small scale and amateur makers who need small items manufactures or technical problem solving for their projects and to give access to processes and materials which are impractical for a home based maker.

I will endeavour to provide a friendly and approachable service which gives good value for money. This won't be a cheap way to get things which you can easily buy in shops but I hope that it will be a more practical and better value option for hard to find items as an alternative to specialist suppliers with big minimum orders or taking the risk of trying to import things.

Services include

- Engineering design : help with the design of practical projects
- Workshop equipment : custom made benches, workstations and shelving and storage as well as specialist tools.
- Fabrication : TIG welding, cutting and profiling of steel, stainless steel and copper alloys.
- Materials : supply of small qualities of material cut to size
- Mould and pattern making : in clay, plaster, resins, fibreglass and cold-cast metal
- Advice on starting up with various processes including, welding, small scale fabrication, jewellery and sculpting
- Workshops and tuition : one to one advice and tuition for building basic skills or practical problem solving for specific projects. Workshops include use of specialist facilities.

I can also offer the use of supervised workshop space for projects.

There is no minimum price and I am to keep costs realistic.

I am looking at this being geared mostly towards quite specific problem solving projects, for example if you need a part that you don't have the facilities to fabricate

My website is www.chrisjohnssculpture.co.uk (there is also a link to it in my signature on this forum).

That has a good selection of examples of my work which should give people a reasonable idea of what I can do.
