Hello splendid Folk,

I am Brazilian/British, currently living in London. I work as a translator and a history/heritage activity assistant at sites such as the Tower of London, Kensington Palace, where Queen Victoria was born and Hampton Court Palace, amongst others. I enjoy attending the Whitby Goth/Steampunk Festival in the North of England and nightclub Slimelight cut from the same kind of cloth.

I am busy translating into English the work of a Brazilian University Professor, who in his spare time writes stories of Braziliana Steampunk. A short series is currently showing at Amazon Prime in Brazil. I shall keep you informed when it is released in the US and the UK.

Would you kindly show me how to post a profile portrait? I have tried including one here but it is not showing up. Are we allowed to post links and pictures?

Best wishes of a splendid weekend to all.

Hello, Losshluz, and welcome.

A short primer on adding a profile picture may be found in the Engine Room, at Guidelines for changing your avatar.

You may absolutely post links and images. To post an image, you need to find somewhere else to host it (such as imgur or imageshack) and then post a link to it using [img] tags or the button. More information may be found in the Engine room. As a courtesy to those with low-bandwidth connections, please place very large or multiple images behind [spoiler] tags, using the button.

Welcome again! And also I will add that you can embed pictures from your Twitter account if you can isolate the url for the picture with your web browser. The url to the picture will look something like this:

Code:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/MyPicture?format=jpg&name=large

Or in the old format

I am a professional translator. Brazilian/British. Currently working on subtitling a Braziliana Steampunk series to start on Amazon Prime soon. I love everything Art Nouveau, British, Steampunk and History in general. My second job, a bit quarantined at the moment, is I work in historic sites such as castles and palaces in Britain helping the public to explore history where it happened. We have had a couple of years ago a Victoriana season in one of our sites and had the splendid visit of the President of the British Steampunk Association. Since that excellent talk, I have followed his advice to go forth and just be splendid. Cheerio and please followed the series Full Steam Punks from Brazil to start on Amazon Prime soon with English subtitles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3s8ykcF4a0

Welcome Horatio Valentine,

I see that you come from the Antipodean continent, like a few of us on this forum. Pray tell, in which area do you reside?

Or if you aren't one for fancy talking, g'day from another Aussie. Where ya from, mate?

Greetings and welcome, Horatio Valentine.
And I am looking forward to seeing those past memory DIY costumes and props.
Mayhaps you should utilize Mr Wells Time Machine to facilitate that?.... Grin

The Sunshine State, good ol' QLD. Cheers to another scorching summer, ey, mate? How 'bout you?

I am looking forward to seeing those past memory DIY costumes and props.

I'm down in Melbourne. The Aussies on BG are currently spread out a bit but steampunk still makes an appearance all over our fine island. If you learn of anything new happening in your neck of the woods, you're welcome to tell us of it (the Oceania subboard is ideal for that - http://brassgoggles.co.uk/forum/index.php/board,27.0.html)

Hi all

I'm Tom Snout and have been into my steampunk for years but lacked the time to give it my full attention but working in theatre for 20yrs has taught me a couple of things.

Lockdown has changed my time usage and I have now realized my love by starting to make my steampunk props and weirdness into a business.

Hope to see you all around the forum.

I found the name “Angus McCrumb” on a 19th century tombstone in Saginaw, Michigan about 12 years ago and adopted the name as a reincarnation.

Hello all! I'm a long time lurker, but have finally decided to set down roots and make the necessary introductions! I'm a tinkerer who likes making electronical objects and housing them in shellacked wood and brass, so steampunk has always been a bit of an aesthetic inspiration. Anyhow, I'm glad to be here and look forward to the conversations and inspiration.
