Anyone remember a TV show called Lexx?...

They nailed it with their President of the US (actually before George Bush was in power), and they used almost exactly the same concept about the Higgs particle causing the the planet to "Shrink to approximately the size of a pea" without warning when trying to determin it's exact mass.

Oh God Lex, what a bizarre little series that was. Still, a good example as to why we needn't worry too much. Apparently the particle generator needed to cause such instability would be bigger than the earth if it was built any time soon. Don't see too many people queuing up to fund that. Personally I think Stephen's just grumpy cos he lost the bet about the Higgs being discovered in the first place, now he's just trolling everybody hehe.
