I have a user name, rather than a persona. It's an acronym, which I kind of hope is explained in my signature.

That's easy, in real life I am a proud holder of the Louisiana War Cross which if there were any justice in this world would entitle me to be called "Sir." Really if the Beatles were knighted (MBE), why not me? The fact is that I have so many medals that I look like a Hero of the Soviet Union. The LWC would have made me a knight (Chevalier) if those damn French hadn't killed their own King. How could my persona be any less brave than I am in real life?

Duke Duel is the name I design posters, D.J., play music, and shoot my mouth as. It comes from Calypso roots from Trinidad, and Jamaica around the 30's. Duke because the the calypso performers would call themselves royalty to make fun of the British rulers, and Duel as in dueling with pistols.

This is actually one of several.
I'm a writer and in a book I'm struggling to write (lack of inspiration) has the main character based off yours truly. However, her name is not Wilhelmina Archer (Mina for short) but in fact Lydian Teatime (yes, teatime, because we've an unhealthy obsession with tea and pastries).
Mina Archer is to be developed

Mine is pretty boring. My favorite band is Iron Maiden, and I loved the cover to their Powerslave album, so I decided to use that as a profile name years ago. But after being told that Powerslave was already taken, it gave me an option to add 60 at the end. So I used it. =P I'm not that creative.

Umm, how do you pronounce "Teatime"? You see, there was man I heard of by that name and he had this strange obsession with death, not pastries. Welcome to Brass Goggles all the same.

I am also a writer, and have wrote several characters based on separate parts of my personality.
There is Alice Wright, who is my analytical side. She loves logical puzzles and riddles and just generally likes to know how things work. In a way, she is a little bit socially challenged, because she likes to see things from all angles, and can't seem to decide how she sees people because they are constantly changing variables in an otherwise logical equation.
Then there is Molly. No last name, just Molly. She is my fun side. The side that sees the humor in things, albeit sarcastic and cynical. She tends to take a lighter sense of humor from those, and is the one that is outgoing and confident and likes to be around people.
There are a few more, but Alice and Molly are my two favorites, and the most dominant sides.
'Indefinitive' is just a word (not even real) to describe the lines between each character. They tend to blend together some days, and other days, not so much. The lines are undefined, and constantly change.

(Capt. Swing was a character in William Gibsons book "The Difference Engine") Actually, he was a historical (if still fictional) individual, taken up by Gibson for his (most excellent) story. Captain Swing was the name appended to some of the threatening letters during the rural English Swing Riots of 1830. Like the Luddites of 1812, the movement had an imaginary leader with a multiple-use name. His name was no doubt chosen, in a form of morbid humour, to echo the gallows which awaited rebels who got involved in his movement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Swing

There is nothing wrong with loving the Holy Discworld! Embrace your obsession! *(ahehem...) * I'm secretly in love with both Angua and Granny Weatherwax... I think I said this before, a long while back, but here it is again: MWBailey. This is me. It's a form of my name. I absolutely HATE* my first name. Thus, I use my first two initials. The closest thing I have to a steampunk persona takes the form of three characters (all of whom I have used in various capacities in both RPs and short stories here on Brass Goggles): - Jaisen Santiago Dreyfuss (whatever rank he tends to hold): Used in Steam London and Steam London: Realms of Aether RPs, and in the WIP collection of shorts Between the Threads
- Jonathan Hardskraebel (Mad Jack) Pulsifer: Used in The Steaming Rat and The Extended Steam Salon RP's, and in Between the Threads
- M.W. Brantley: Used in The Extended Steam Salon and soon to be mentioned and/or used in Between the Threads
I don't actually have a true favorite persona; I like all of them, though Dreyf tends to get a great deal more use. ---- * Please Pardon the vehement outburst

Well I thought this would be as good of a place as any to start the introductions. I'm fairly new to this whole thing and my name comes from the ones given to me to go in between my first name and last name.

I am going to disappoint the entire aether when I must declare there can't be a persona for me. I am too much of a character in this dismal real life "history as it is" then I could imagine in our own version "history as it should be".
I couldn't imagine a persona for me. Sorry.

The Germanized form of my middle name. Simply comes out of my uncle making fun of my name...when I entered his house he would squint his eyes and say in a fake German accent Herrr...Vilhelm..." I guess I liked it because it's steamy. Also suitably German as I am an aerospace engineer...(or for purposes of this forum aeronautical / airship engineer).

My name actually comes from a game called Suikoden, where you played the son of a general called Teo Mcdohl. I'm not sure where Tenlo came from, but its stuck ever since. And its unique!! Chances are if you come across a Tenlo it's me. The only other thing I've found is its the verb to hold or keep in spanish I think.

What an odd coincidence... my favorite album was, of course, "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son", but that was way to long, so I went with the name of the first song, "Moonchild." Of course, this is also the name of a novel by Alister Crowley, and, well, it ties in with my obsession with werewolf lore and legend. But the first time I went to use it online, of course it was taken, so I changed the spelling in the gothic fashion of the time (about 1998). Since then I've used some variation of that name for all screen-names/personas/fursonas/ect. The name has come to represent a side of myself that either has to remain hidden to blend in to modern life, or a part of me that doesn't exist do to the laws of reality, though I sorely wish it did. As for the version I use on here (Mr. Moonchylde), well, neither I nor my steampunk "persona" is, was, or will be an aristocrat. No "Lord" or "Sir", it just doesn't feel right. "Mr." is as formal as I can go. We're just tinkerers and junk collectors with a constant feeling of wanderlust, is all...
