Hi there! My name is Paul, formerly a professional mind-reader, now working as a writer and author. I have a book coming out shortly (thanks Kickstarter!) along the theme of an alternative Victorian reality. Looking forward to chatting with some of you guys as time progresses.

HELLO ALL!!! My name is Randy, I make robots and rayguns from found objects and wanted to get on some forums and see what other people are making. I have liked steampunk ever since I built my first lamp out of old crap in my dad's barn and found out that it was actually an art form  Tongue

Hello all!

I'm rather impressed by the things you lot are doing and involved in - for instance, Paul from two posts before me could comb my every thought while IAmTheRandall zaps me senseles ^^,

As for Steampunk related arts, crafts and sciences, I just write. Still, I see there's lots here to learn and I'm looking forward to it.

Greetings!

Good afternoon to the board

Please allow me to introduce myself, I`m a man of wealth and taste... Wink

Somewhat on overtime as to when I registered, but I`m a 45 year Norwegian male, with a healthy and well nourished anglophile (or love for the England that never was) streak to the tune of having tried to get by using only Land Rover brand cars for family vehicles and such utter nonsense. Probably more of a closet steampunker than an acting one, but I do have a fasinaction for the Victorian/Edwardian era combined with a sense of humour that has gone on for a couple of decades with Sherlock Holmes, Jules Verne and H.G Welles as a staple bookdiet since childhood, having lately read some of the more contemporary series and authors (not many) and looking into getting more reading done in the genre.

I`m currently researching sabrefencing from sources such as Hutton and C. Phillips-Wolley among other fellows and have plans to do some steampunk inspired clothing for the CAS shooting comps, cant let those pesky cowboys have all the fun, eh ? Having undertaken a career changing descicion to leave a full time, late entry Commision in the armed forces and go back to Uni for a teachers degree, I have had some time on my hands to do stuff I`ve wanted and this is one of them.

The only arts I dabble with, are either Martial or the painting of tiny tin men for the table. Earlier on I have done some sewing and lighter leatherwork for medieval reenactment.

My preferred teas are Oolong, Darjeeling and Assam and none of those pesky bags - loose leafs, no sugar, if you please.  :-)

I?m getting long winded and a bit fragmented, so I`ll leave it there. Glad to be aboard. :-)

Hello everyone! I apologize in advance for the awkward introduction. I'm Ms. Avalon, though you may call me Meranda for more everyday purposes. I am a young steampunker, of only 16 years, but I am very enthusiastic about the genre. It has intrigued me for the past three years, though for only about a year now have I thrown myself into it fully. I'm currently working on several projects, including some decor for my room and an outfit for an upcoming convention. I live in the United States and happen to dwell in a very unique town. My past times include sewing, reading and airship flying. Though my crafting skills are a bit rusty and often I have no idea what I'm doing, I am looking forward to creating more steampunk contraptions.

Hey folks! I've always been a Steampunker, but recently, I've been getting really into it. Hell, I'm starting to drift into fanaticism! I'm 16, and anything Steampunkish and weird fascinates me. I'm always looking for Steampunk fiction, mainly because I love venturing into other worlds, and because I'm always trying find inspiration to create my own world. I was kind of hoping that you guys would be able to help with that. I'd love to discuss anything Steampunk with any and everyone and I'm always ready to discuss anything and provide ideas and help, just as I assume you all would if I needed it, because this is a community, isn't it? Hell, it seems like it's a family, and I'd really like to be a part of it. Thanks for reading!

Quick question: if I ever want to drop a story here without being laughed at, would I just make a new thread in the "Textuals?"

Hello everyone, and nice to see some young folks getting involved and making themselves known. There was a discussion about that recently you may find interesting.

Well nice to see you all here. I believe the young lady is trying to enable a space where folks of a similar age can interact if they wish, so by all means get in touch wherever you're based. After all it's partly what we're here for.

To answer your question Mr MacMucking (apologies I missed it the first time) Textual is indeed the place for the wordsmiths.  Smiley

Hello, I'm Matt and I'm 27.
I recently got into Steampunk after playing a game called Dystopian wars and reading league of gentleman, watching some old movies of H G Wells books.

Aside from that my experience is very limited. I have been working on an outfit for the Lincoln Steampunk festival in September called Asylum. Hmm asides from that I have no idea what else to say...

You could ask if anyone on the forum can supply Spartan Games minis at a good price, or just simply google a certain persons username, Wink

PS: welcome to the forum, say hello if you bump into me at Asylum, I'll be the one dressed in Steampunk apparel and carrying your large order of Dystopian Wars  Grin Grin Grin

Hi guys! I'm Toby, been hanging around here for a while, and finally worked up the courage to make an account and actually introduce myself. I'm 18, a student, and a writer in my spare time. Discovered steampunk when I realised that the things I loved had a name.  Smiley Pleased to meet all of you!

Hi everyone!

My name is Sam- I'm 22 and a graphic designer. I'm really enthusiastic about steampunk literature and I love the style. My girlfriend and I have been thinking about putting together some costumes. We're heading to the Steampunk World's Fair at the end of the week so the two of us are running around to get something together!

Anyways, I hope to learn a lot from the board as we start getting things together.

Greeting one and all!

Well my name is Andrew, I'm 26 and I've been on the fringes on the Steampunk scene for about a year now.  I'm living in Derby, England, and am hoping once I've looked around here that I'll be able to find some like minded people locally to latch onto Smiley

The current look I'm working towards is a gentleman agent, partly inspired by the Spectre assassins from the classic Bond films.  At the very least it's giving me a good excuse to get some crafting skills together.

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hello all

I'm Rach and I'm 34.

Along with Kilidath, I recently got into Steampunk after reading League of Gentleman and The Clockwork trilogy and watching SP inspired movies plus I love the style of clothing.  Aside from that my experience is very limited but I am willing to learn more and absorb all I can of the SP culture  Smiley

Hi my name is Kat!

I'm 29 years old and have been into Steampunk for a good four or five years now.  In my spare time I like making costumes, props, and a steampunk-based webcomic known as Perpetual Flux.  Seems like a great community here that I would love to be a part of!
