A device patented for strengthening the hands and correcting the posture of piano players. The only time I've ever seen one made, was a modified version with extra finger extensions worn by Tom Waits in Coppola's Dracula.

Last was nice find. I also made clock operated version from that old thing in many years ago.

Women in bat costumes. Bats seemed to have been a popular costume theme in the early 20th century.
