I've been letting my facial hair grow for about two months now and I'm having a hard time finding a good style to fit with a durby. I was thinking of a short chop and 'stach but I dont know if that would look the part. What do you think fellows?

Yeah... Sad Still. How awesome would it be to be the proud bearer of such prodigious whiskers? It seems that I am genetically incapable of growing a mustachio like that though. Mine gets all stringy at the ends and falls apart to easy.

Please show us what you actually look like. then we can realistic advice about what you can do with the amount of hair you have now. Or alternatively what sort of  theatrical moustache, sideburns etc. you could consider for the look you want.

It's often best to let it grow out for a decent while and see where it naturally wants to go rather than try to sculpt it too much to begin with.

I second Narsil's advice. Just stop shaving for a month or two then shave it back into a style you like/think suits you. That's how I ended up with my facial fungus.

As previously stated, this is a two month growth. I had to trim my moustache this mourning because I was chewing on it when I ate. Tongue Otherwise it's as is.

Either train the moustache to curl upwards or start planning to go without one. With the beard, wait until you have enough hair to see how it splits bifurcated, triple point etc. Then you can look up suitable examples.

From the look of those photos, a bit of judicious pruning would provide a good set of muttonchop whiskers.

Bully! A vote for the The mutton! I think I'll add a poll just to make things easier.

ALSO! Here is an amusing diddy by a Mister Weeble all about his mustache:

How does one train ones mustache? I've never been good with a whip. Bifurcation sounds interesting, though I imagine it would look better with a full beard.

Are we looking to Mr. Connery or Mr. Caine for example? Both are viable options at this point.

Sorry, possible poor picture selection.

Mr Connery. Simply fantastic muttons in a great film.

Indeed. Alas, I dont have the face for that full and bushy chop look. Mine always look better shorter and unconnected.

Muttons dont have to connect in the middle. (I have the same problem with growth not being full in places, but can grow a smashing goatee)

Looking at your piccies something like this perhaps..........

Random from google........

The basic shape is good but I would suggest that the sides stop about quarter inch from the corners of your mouth.  As you don't like chewing on your moustache its probably best to leave a little clearance so you are not chewing sideburn edges instead.

I dont think I would have to worry about that. It will grow that high. At least I never had that problem in the past. Thanks for the tip though.
