I've been largely incognito these past few months. I've still been lurking and (barely) keeping up with my modly duties.

In the interim I can proudly say I have managed to finish the first draft of my novel Maiden Voyage (in The New Age of Steam series). I'm not sure if any of the others here are still active in their projects though. A sequel has been planned, as have further books beyond the crop of characters I'm working with. I'm looking to get well stuck in to the editing process now (after stepping away from it for a few months) and have been taking a few notable writing courses, one of which will be pairing me with a mentor. I'm slowly moving toward getting published, and it's quite an exciting road.

In other news, I'm becoming something of a mover in the world of eSports out in this corner of the globe (Oceania) under a group called Don't Worry About It (DWAI) Gaming, which is eating up more and more of my time. My tertiary studies are on indefinite hiatus (won't go in to too much detail regarding that, but I haven't dropped out in the sense that I failed my papers). I'm working full-time in a bar now until my student loan of just under $9,000 is paid off so I can work in the US for a while, learning the ins and outs of running a 'gaming house' before heading over to Australia to set up another such house.

Steampunk is still very much alive in me, and it has settled into manifesting itself through my writing. I feel I'll be more and more able to maintain a decently active role around here, and I look forward to being more involved again.

Regards

I think I should also mention I had a dream about this game, only Bailey was a woman...

I assure you, that incident in Singapore was all a misunderstanding.

Welcome back, Corsair!   I guess it reveals my age that the last time I read the word "gaming" it referred to Casino gambling  Roll Eyes

Hi Corsair,

It is a pleasure to meet you. And congratulations on finishing the first draft of your novel. Only those who have trodden the same path know what an achievement that represents. Smiley Good luck with it.

Congrats mate, I know what it feels like to get a first draft done ( have the first drats of 3 books sat on my drive so far!)
