Just this minute spoke to Tim the Landlord at the Swan (Ma Pardoes) to confirmn our booking.

He's given us the 'smoking' room which is a self contained little room in the middle of the pub. The place is like a maze so turn up and enquire at the bar. Told him that some of us might be dressed in our finerys and he has no problem and offers us all a warm welcome. In the winter there is a small coal fire in the 'smoking' room so we will be all toasty and warm!!

I had an excellent night last night, looking forward to the next, this 'smoking' room sounds ideal.

I must ask, is it just a social gathering on the two Wednesdays, I've been told bits and pieces about what people have been trying to play but I'm still not not 100% sure... I just want to ensure I don't make a faux pas.

Also I'm not sure if I ever made an introduction in this thread before... I joined last year but... let's just say a couple valves burst since then and I've only just got the gears turning again in the right way. If I haven't, Hello to you all, If I have, Hello AGAIN to you all.

Hello, the Wednesday meetings are simply a group of adults all who have a love of the steampunk culture having an informal drink in the pub. Its really relaxed open to all. We do have hopes of doing a craft meeting but that's not just yet. There's no set agenda in the pub. Just turn up and chat about anything that takes your fancy.

Wunderbar! I look forward to it, might even try and make myself a new ensemble for the occasion.

Hello there all! I have been quiet for a time. Sorry I couldn't make the last meet, I arrived fashionably early but unfortunately I wasn't feeling all too well and decided to head home (can't be too careful, you can pick up all kinds of odd things time travelling) but I will try to get to the next one (though it is slightly less familiar to me so that is still a maybe) if not see you all at the next punknic!
...Hold on, when is the next 'formal' event? I recall there was a punknic this month, I presume that is still on?

I'm still alive! (I think anyway)

Love and tea,
Madam T

The Barman said that a "young lady dressed in Victorian type clothes" was seen outside the pub earlier and I though it might have been your good self. Hope you're feeling better
The next three events are..

Ma Pardoes (the swan pub Netherton) on Wednesday 20th August 7pm
Birmingham Botanical Garden Saturday 23rd August 12pm
Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery Rowland Emett exhibition 30th August 11am

Fantastic, thank you Smiley I will try my best to make all three but I'm not entirely sure about the 30th as I'm in Worcester filming a trailer for my novel that week but we don't know what day yet (because we are so impeccably organised)

Many happy returns! Filming a trailer for your novel - very impressive! All the best with that venture.

Yours,
Miranda.

Ma Pardoes is just up the road from me, I was there last night. I'd love to come along to the Wednesday 20th meetup there. My last meetup was before Christmas in Worcester and I would like to see you all again.

For those of us who (like me) don't drink, I can recommend the BitBurger 0% alcohol lager. They also serve a good selection of Fentimans soft drinks.

It will be nice to see you again. I'm usually on the apple juice or ginger ale!

I'll probably be arriving early on Wednesday, me and a couple friends might play a bit of a steampunk RP I've been writing there before the meet. Really looking foreward to it.

As an avid rpg/wargamer that sounds interesting

Interesting idea though it doesn't look quite right, though I'm no designer.

Personally I would start from scratch because I'm not particularly enamoured of the Black country flag design.

I still don't like the original flag as a starting point.
