I'll start.. - one cup of good coffee followed by: - an injected 24 units of NPH insulin followed by: - two buttermilk crumpets, toasted and buttered, with Roberston Seville Orange Marmalade followed by: - more good coffee..
Local bakery does packs of really good crumpets..

Breakfast for me is whatever the cafeteria employees fill the trough with--sometimes Steamy, usually not. Today it was sausage links, potatoes, a blueberry bagel w/ cream cheese, a bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and a glass each of orange and cranberry juice. That was actually more like brunch, hence the ludicrous amount of food...
PS: Hurray for the return of your internet, kiskolou!

May I ask what a steampunk breakfast would actually be? I guess the most Victorian English part of my breakfast was the tea......

I woke up real late today being Sunday and all, so I had a proper Sunday roast for breakfast. May I ask what a steampunk breakfast would actually be? Quite possibly whatever you think a stempunk breakfast would be? I'd pass at kippers, though... Cheers Harold Kippers are the bees-knees of breakfasts, you wouldn't believe how sad I was when I found out there weren't actually kippers swimming around the sea.

Dear Russandol,
If you go back and find the "steampunk cuisine" thread in Anatomical a while back, there was lots of discussion there that might be informative. I found it a fun thread.
My breakfast/brunch was some cashews and an American "English muffin" toasted, with Robertsons Orange Marmalade and a bit of cheese.

Cold, buttered toast.
(I prefer to have cold toast when buttering because I don't like the butter to melt into the toast and make it all floppy)

May I ask what a steampunk breakfast would actually be? Quite possibly whatever you think a stempunk breakfast would be? Well, what I was thinking was rather; is a steampunk breakfast a breakfast consisting of food that you would actually eat during the 19th century, or is it a breakfast where you have fried your eggs with a tesla coil and boiled your tea water with a steam engine....? I sincerely hope it's the former...

Dear Harold,
I envy you your crumpet bakery. I haven't had a crumpet, good or otherwise, for far too long.

We partook of kippers, smoked eel, bangers and mash, spotted dick, and a mixed grill, finished off with a snort of akvavit: not the breakfast of champions nor of children. A bit heavy on cholesterol, to be sure, but relatively free of sugars and carbohydrates.

Apple juice, a chocolate muffin, a Centrum, and canned peaches. Pretty much standard fare for me.

todays breakfast, while not being in the slightest bit steampunk, was a delightful experience... a bowl of alpine strawberries from my own garden and a big dollop of clotted cream. it certainly won't keep me fuelled until lunch time, but its a nice way to start the week

Today I had Rollmops which I think could be considered Victoriany, right time frame atleast.
(A Rollmop is a pickled herring fillet rolled up with onion served in vinegar)

If you say so. I make it a habit when I travel to eat what the locals do. I find that it makes for an interesting dining experience and better quality of food than if I attempted to find something remotely Northeastern American. One simply cannot find a decent bagel anywhere else in the world. I do believe it has to do with the quality and content of our water. In any case, I find beans served with breakfast to be very novel, indeed, but not quite to my taste. But, then I am not much for most legumes. So, when I am in England or Canada, I simply and politely push them to the side and eat my toast with butter and jam. This morning's fare was had on the run, so it included a large vanilla spice Dunkin Donuts coffee and a buttered roll.

*Points down the street* I live right in the middle of a Jewish neighbourhood. While I haven't tasted your bagels over there, my bagels right here are pretty darn tasty.
