A few details here:

The comic appears to be inspired by Leonardo DaVanci's sketches. It is of particular interest to me because I am one the the owners of Wonderworld Comics, a comic shop in a Detroit suburb. The shop was named for an earlier publication of that name, from the publisher Fox Features.
