I like the design... as for the coloring, I like the background & tentacles better on the greenish one, and the girl and foreground better on the reddish one... so, that's a tough call... I wonder what they'd look like combined in that way, it might kind of harsh to look at

The Confederate Steampunk costume thread (which seems to have run out of steam, to use a bad pun) sort of inspired me to come up with this:

I just got some metallic prints made of my steampunk art. Put them up for sale on my etsy site. Not trying to draw buyers per se, just wanting to share the paintings.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/83237608/zeppelin-over-mars-8x10-metallic-print
http://www.etsy.com/listing/83237703/portrait-of-the-captain-8x10-metallic
http://www.etsy.com/listing/83237812/portrait-of-the-engineer-8x10-metallic
http://www.etsy.com/listing/83237954/portrait-of-the-communications
Hope you all enjoy them!
I've got some more in the works. If given a chance, I highly recommend getting prints with high contrast done with metallic inks, it makes it almost three-dimensional (fourth-dimensional even!) when viewed in the right light.

Good day ladies and gentlemen!  I just wanted to pop in and show off my latest creation.  Behold, the very first Daguerreograph!  http://nerdadjacent.deviantart.com/#/d4cqmxo  I have taken elements of daguerreotyping, photographs of myself in my steamy regalia, and fused them together onto metal!  One must see this with their own two eyes to understand how incredibly unique this process yields!

Photography can not capture the depth of image and it is only out of necessity I present it in this fashion.  You could mount it to the mast of your dirigible and it would withstand the elements for all eternity.  I am currently accepting commissions so if you would like an original composition or your own art transformed just drop me a line.

Thank you for your time.

The two latest iterations of my ongoing ray gun design project:

and

These are the latest of nearly 130 drawings I've done in an attempt to pin down the right design attributes for a ray gun i intend to 3d render and then have prototyped.  All input is welcome.  You can find the rest here:

A slightly-more-steampunk, impressionistic painting than that riverboat and the seated figure I did for that raffle a while back. I did this a few weeks after that raffle bit;  Basically it's the RTAF St. Elmo (My Character Jaisen Dreyfuss' ship from the Steam London: Realms of Aether RP) in an assumedly tropical setting.

Thanks - I actually based it (well, the engine part at least) on a locomotive from the period, so that it would look relatively technically correct.

Gentlemen, and Ladies,

I'm not computer savy enough to upload photos, but have some (I hope you'll agree) fun pieces I've built from found objects. Oil paintings, Rayguns and things you've never imagined before. Imagine Tesla meets Bell, meets Faraday, meets Warehouse 13.  Comments are welcomed.  See them at: www.coreywolfe.com.

Just scroll down below the artwork.

Ha! Oneiros, that's really funny - great conversion design!

Hi everyone, I'm new here, thought I'd share some of my artwork:

Silas Killigan and his Steampunk Faerie-Powered Armor

Erin
(I did this piece as a promotional image for Nova Albion, the northern California steampunk exhibition, which was going to have a celtic theme... but the 2013 expo has been cancelled. Sad  )

Spyglass

Anyhow, plenty more to share but this should be a good start and a good way to introduce myself.

Beautiful, Walrus! I also enjoyed visiting your website, and was delighted to see that you are the artist of "Escape Plan B."
This piece was one of my favorites from the CGSociety Steampunk CGChallenge.

Glad to see you on Brass Goggles, sir.

Thank you! That's actually the piece that got me into steampunk. I was a judge for that contest, but the steam-theme intrigued me so much that I had to do a painting for it anyhow, even though I was inelligible for any prizes. I really got into it and pretty much have been painting steampunk works in my own time ever since. It's nice to have a like-minded place to share them. Smiley

I thought the style looked vaguely familiar, although to be honest I had chalked that up to my own lack of artistic education...

Walrus,

Great illistrations & like your airship design, I had to laugh at the placment of the one Faerie.....

Now I have to ask if several people yell "I don't believe in Faeries" and
they all drop dead isn't his armor useless?
