This is a stunning thread. So much wonderful work.
I am studying a high level art course, but sadly steampunk is not my fortay...I can't draw it very well, although I'm practising really hard, so hopefully I'll have something to post here soon. x

Hi all, newby here. I've just completed a set of 3 trike drawings, the first of which is a Steampunk version. I also intend to create more Steampunk art over the coming months. Cheers, Sym. Ooh! I want one!

Doodled this up yesterday afternoon. I thought it came out rather nicely although I had problems with the gun/hand due to never drawing such things before (hands, yes but not holding guns). I'm also not sure whether or not I want to add hints of color to it. Suggestions and criticism are always welcome.

So I've been lurking here for a bit and have a question. If I have a larger scale 2D art idea - like say a steampunk webcomic I want to start a thread on - is that okay? I just don't see any 2D art outside of this thread. Or I may be not looking hard enough. Can someone answer this?

love the tarot! keep em coming!!! here are a couple of steam geisha that i have been working on. both tinted with green tea naturally Thanks, it's a work in progress so I'll have more as I finish them. Your geisha are awesome, I was looking back a few pages yesterday and saw some of your other girls, it's nice to see your take on what the diffrences between western and eastern cultures would be.

First time posting pics here. Um. Yeah. And just as a gaff: I don't know if I have to say this, but the characters are mine and I would appreciate people not taking them .___.

Two pieces for the Raffle Table at the Bayou City Oldtime Music and Dulcimer Festival this Thursday through Saturday in Houston (plug, plug, plug ). These are the first two paintings larger than a teensy vignette on the side of an instrument case that I have done in nearly twenty years; I was pretty much reteaching myself to paint as I did these. They are perhaps not really Steam punk, per se, but Riverboats run on/ran on steam, and the dress is pioneer/victorian period, so... __________________________________ They're for a music festival, so of course they have people playing instruments in them. I enjoyed doing these, so I'll probably go all bonkers and paint several more canvases, maybe even an 'airship pic' or three. I'd love to do an action scene on a big canvas, so I can get better detail and proportion going (these are acrylics and around 8"X10", about right for a smallish study painting, so detail was a bit of a struggle).

This is probably the closest thing to being clearly Steampunk I have ever done, although I took quite a few nods to Surrealism and Symbolism in the process. It is called Day of Judgement and was exhibited most recently at the Art Association of Harrisburg at their figurative show in 2010.

Hi Everyone, a first test post, as I am still finding my way round and working things out. Not strictly Steampunk, but around the right period....ish. I'm working on more relevant paintings at the moment. Hopefully this appears ok. Best Wishes RVS Any and all comments welcome. Thanks

Save for the beard, that fellow rather resembles Admiral Pellew from the Hornblower novels... (I'm not quite that old, but -- well, you know... ).

love the tarot! keep em coming!!! here are a couple of steam geisha that i have been working on. both tinted with green tea naturally click the link to see the rest! thanks! I keep forgetting, but I've intended for quite a while now tio say that I absolutely love the shamisen player! As a sometime fretless banjo player, I have a hearty respect for anyone who plays a fretless instrument with a skin resonator, and the tea medium is fascinating. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Brian-Kesingers-Tea-Girls/212094505475204

An illustration of an Idea for an RP Post; I tend to slap these out while I try to visualize something to write about. I came up with this one during the most recent BG meltdown... Basically, a jungle guide happens upon a long-wrecked enemy ship after a recent interplanetary debacle, while scouting the perimeter of a 'safari' campsite he's just helped to set up. Sorry about the image size; something seems to have gone wonky over at freeimagehosting.net. setting your zoom to 75 percent after you click on the thumbnail should result in a reasonable view.
