wow, i keep getting inspired by all the great stuff on this thread. i will be exhibiting my tea girls for the first time in europe at the end of this month! i wanted to share them here first: Here's a link to the gallery's website to see all three pieces i did: http://www.lagparis.com/208/product.html?idp=5496BK those are some really wonderful 'watercolours' and as someone who dabbles (badly) in that medium I do appreciate the effect painting with Tea has produced. Can I suggest an alternative infusion for you to try Roobios also known as Redbush. For drinking I prefer a mix with a touch of Vanilla, but for Painting it has a slightly more Red-ish colour.

Hi all, newby here. I've just completed a set of 3 trike drawings, the first of which is a Steampunk version. I also intend to create more Steampunk art over the coming months. Cheers, Sym.

Now that is a bit special. I like the exposed cables fiddly bits round the corners. The wallpaper is a nice touch too. I quite like the rat skoda as well.

Just finished doing a sketch of Nikola Tesla. I've been sketching famous folks so that I can do some screen printing... just tweaking the photo until you can screen print with it leaves something lacking as far as detail goes. So instead I'm tracing the photos to achieve a black-and-white image that I can screen print but is at the same time detailed. Plus, it gives it a nice etched look.

here is my newest "tea girl" i used chamomile for this base of this one. the tea was not as saturated as i would have liked. i find that earl gray or mandarin orange work really nice. cheers BK, these are lovely! I've just been out to your blog and I am blown away! And beautiful artistry aside, there are some damn cute outfits! I'll definitely be making a few of them.

It looks pretty nice, but I sort of disagree about the 'etched' look. If you wanted that effect, I think you might have to... what, roughen up the lines a bit, perhaps throw in some random noise and scratches to give the old-timey look, and some other tweaks to really sell the 'etched' style.

Thanks for the kind comments, I really got a kick out of drawing the Steampunk Trike. I fancy drawing some guns next, half the fun is working out all the features. One of the other areas I like to play in is animatronics (mainly model tank figures in 1/6th scale, or pilots in 1/4 and 1/3rd), I really would like to get into making automatons eventually, especially in Steampunk and Gothic styles. Here's a link to one of mine -
I find making this stuff extremely interesting, especially now I've discovered Muscle Wire. The possibilities with this stuff are mind blowing! Cheers, Sym.

That steampunk trike is briliant. I was just wondering the other day how a steamed trike would look and you've answered that question in style..great work.

More Dieselpunk than Steampunk. But a new version of HMS Valkyrie. No longer a rigid dirigible but a helicarrier. Using contemporary warship designs and dieselpunk stylings as inspiration.

He looks familiar to me, too, Polaris. As soon as I saw it, I thought, "I've seen that before!" Anyway, nicely done. No time to actually look at everyone's art, but it sure has inspired me... too bad I'm not an artist. I have some ideas for personal vehicles, but seing as I can't really draw, I might try to do something 3D, like with Blender. We'll see. Oh, yeah, loved the comic!

From the storybook I am illustrating, being offered as a high resolution PDF download for $1 on our Kickstarter: http://kck.st/gCCoTxGet a $2 sheet of fine art paper from your local craft store, and this print will look its very best - a mere $3 in total investment. Watermark does not appear on print

I drew this up for the airship living conditions thread: General Arrangement for a generic Air Pirate vessel very pleased with the result; needs some tarting up, but I think the sails look spot on. Edit: love the sun in that pic! -Matt
