They remind me slightly of the drawings on the front of the frightfully expensive but oh-so-nice Jonathon Crisp crisps one can buy from Debenhams' cafe and other such places.

I am so glad I stumbled into this thread. Everyone's art is rather beautiful. I'm only regretful that by the time I found this there were already sixteen pages of eyecandy, which is far too much for me to compliment everyone personally. But, I'm game as well. Here's one I've done: Recoloured Daguerreotype.

I did a quick sketch of the crew of the Chronabelle - I fear the proportions are completely off, but nonetheless:

I think there are too much elements, now I haven't the will to color it>< Yeah colouring is bothersome. I'm partially colourblind so I usually just usually ask my friends to make a palette for me. But yes, how astute of you! It is "beyond wonderland". I'm a huge Lewis/Charles fan. I like your faces (the characters faces of course). And the colouring is very good.
What? My face isn't as good as my characters? *bats eyelashes?* Zaha, I mean, "Thank you."

Justavis, I love your drawing. It's a delightful palette, you're doing rather well for a partially colourblind chap. Hereaftermouse, even if you hadn't explained who the drawing was, I think all of us could tell who the person sprawled across the chair is. I love the almost-blank-faces, it lends a nice touch to the piece.

I've been experimenting with Drafting of late and here is the first result. The scan was a bit poor as it had trouble with the pencil (exept for the numbers and arms of the clock, which I attempted to Ink). I'm still looking for a good inking pen. The endevor was rather amusing...

Nice, must learn how to 'shop stuff. My latest creation: Oh the abrasion of that... Nothing could last very long as a hull for that ship. My latest drawing, that of an airship city.

I have a tendency of becoming distracted whilst I should be drawing costume designs. These distractions more often then not become steamy. Back and front Full Front Detail Back Detail Spat Detail It was initially going to be merely a dream outfit, never to be seen in reality ... but my friends have persuaded me otherwise ... and fabric has been purchased. I already have someone willing to build the corset for me, and I'm going to try my hand at some draping for the jacket. The tails will be removable for "daily" wear, and I think the pants are going to have "plackets" at the ankles with big black buttons on them. Should be fun!

As Steampunks, we often pay homage to the zeppelin and dirigible, but I believe the submersible is sadly neglected. This may help redress this imbalance. No it's not mine, I just thought it looked amazing.

Lady Vivian - Those are some excellent designs. Please grace us with photos when you have completed them. I particularly like the idea of removable tails for "daily" wear. Very smart that!
Fortigurn - Quite right. The submersible is often overlooked. Those illustration are wonderful. Might I inquire as to the source?

It was from one of the competitions held on the conceptart.org forums. There are a few other offerings in the thread, but I didn't think any came close to this one.

The outfit was never designed to be made. However, I am not one to dissappoint a vast quantity of peoples (i.e. everyone who has seen it). At the request of my peers, it shall be built. I smell summer project (because I need something to do when I'm only working one job).
Let us hope that my draping skills are as good as I like to pretend they could be.

View here my low-effort attempt to depict a steam-powered catI'm very green to the culture of steampunk, but I believe to have fallen head-over-heels for it. Even if my head is not quite so large enough to hold everything I've found so far.

Miss, nobodies head is large enough to fit all of anything in, except for the venerable Harold, who you will undoubtedly meet at a later date. That's an adorable automaton cat incidentally, although he needs a small mouse driven by two large wheels to chase.
